This chapter will talk about having the right self image, which is one of the factors make up the right mindset for sustainable weight loss. your self image basically means how do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as someone smarter? Do you see yourself as good looking? Do you see yourself as a fat person? Or do you see yourself as a thin healthy person, everyone has a self image of themselves.
Whichever way you see yourself, that is what the subconscious mind tries to maintain. So, if your self image is of a fat person, subconscious mind which runs 95% of the day, it makes sure you stay fat so you won't come to take your self image. Your subconscious mind does not care if your self image is good or bad. It just tries to maintain it. You can look at your self image like a thermostat in your house. Once you set the temperature that You want to make sure you maintain the temperature in the house.
Your self image works the same way, just like a thermostat would put on the heat. If the room got too cold or turn on the air conditioning if the room got too hot, your self image works the same way. If you have a self image of fat person, as soon as you lose weight, you will do whatever it can to get it to regain the weight back, like slows down the metabolic rate cause cravings eat without even knowing it. Take extra bites from every meal. Remember, 95% of the time you run an autopilot and autopilot gets its orders from your self image, not your conscious mind. So although you want to lose weight, if you have a self image of a fat person, you will always struggle to lose weight and keep it off.
Let me ask you a question. If you have set the thermostat to 65 degrees, but you decided now you want that 75 degrees, I started changing the setting at the thermostat you simply bought some space heaters to heat up the house as soon as the temperature goes Pursuing degrees thermostat will kick in air conditioning to cool the room down. Because you gotta go, why we're set for? Could you maintain a higher temperature in the house with space heaters without changing the settings in the thermostat? Well, if the space heaters are big enough, it probably could. But I'd hate to see the electric bill at the end of that month.
Obviously no in the right mind would do that. If they want a higher temperature, they will simply readjust the thermostat. Well, you still image is no different. It gives the commands your subconscious mind what weight and health level it wants to maintain. Could you lose weight and still have a self image of a fat person? Yes, you could.
But because you're defining your subconscious mind, you will take a lot of effort and even if you managed to lose the weight, chances are you will be regaining the weight back because your subconscious mind is over a million times more powerful than your conscious mind. Doesn't make more sense to change. your self image first. By changing your self image first, you get your supplies money to work with you and not against you. Many, many people say they need to lose weight first before they can change their self image and feel like a thin person. with that attitude, you'll never lose weight and weight loss will always be an uphill battle.
You see, you must change your self image to a person you want to become. And then you will become that person, not the other way around. He's like you will set the thermostat to 80 degrees once the room gets hit up to 80 degrees, but the roof can get up there because the old settings prevents it from getting there. See the problem?
