Okay, so this is Rob cabin on steam it. And I am sitting next to live now and wow on steam it. And we've been on the platform for how long a month. So we haven't been on for a long time. But we're both enjoying it and we're both posting multiple posts and engaging with the community there. But let's just start by telling us a little bit about your successes, because you have actually made money live no and well, person.
I have a little bit yeah. I just post my introduction out of steam it for a month. So I waited for a month to look at another platform interact a lot of people like I had 60 followers before I even posted my first like real post. And that's because I engaged a lot with a lot of honesty. Okay, that's interesting. So how many followers do you go Firstly, and get to 40 now, and you did that by commenting First off other people's posts.
Yeah. And probably other people. Yeah. But like it wasn't like, oh, follow. I'll follow you if you follow me. Yeah, no, like I never asked follow ups, I think that makes you really into bitcoin theory predicted a mind like don't bad performance is really lame.
Yeah. If people really like what you do, they will follow you. And if they don't, they won't I don't ask for it. I never did. And I don't follow people that asked me. But if I see someone that writes content that I realize, like, I'll probably upload it, and I'll probably also comment on it.
And that may start a conversation and from that follows Well, yeah, because yeah, it may start a conversation or it may not they may not follow you. You don't mind you're doing it because you want to leave a comment because he's thinking that they wrote a good post. Exactly, exactly. Okay, so you've been doing a little bit of that and then you started posting you had a few followers. You started posting Okay, now where are you at? How many?
How many blog posts have you written? I think I've written about 10 to 15 of them. And how much money do you have in your wallet? I just checked. I said 90 $90 $90. Yeah.
Okay. So you have worked hard you put a lot of time in, but you've enjoyed the process of writing. But you've also made a little bit of money. Yes. Which would suggest that the platform is working for you, is about the same time like I happen this is what I've also written a lot of comments. Like, I find it very inspiring to repulsed by females that have been around for like a year.
And they often share like, when I just thought like green delicious for instance, she's right now doing really well. She posts recipes, beautiful photos. Like in our post the unseal. It says like my very first posting FEMA mines reposts only made 21 cents. And now she's doing really well. But why is that?
Because Plexi kept working at it, and eventually built following and following. That's not like, oh, like, please follow me and I'll follow you on that post, those photos will not engage with your content, you won't follow us that like what you posted, they start commenting, getting really engaged with you. And then when you release a new post, they're gonna be seeing it in their feed and actually gonna want to read it. Yeah. So like, I'm getting this done, because this is also my strategy. Yes, I've made some money so far, but not a lot.
I mean, I know people that have been around for a month and in a way more than we both did. I don't care about that. And this is what I recommend. Everyone's just starting out, like, don't focus on the money, focus more on what can you give before, think about what you can take? I think, interestingly, that will actually lead to a lot more rewards in the long run, than if you focus on getting money. Yeah.
I agree. I think I think that's true of all internet businesses, I think if you first focus first on providing value, strive to make a good product. And that is your product, your, your, your, your persona on steam it on Steam, it is your product. So, so people want to buy in by following you and, and opposing you and whatever. So that's definitely the case. Have you got any other pieces of advice?
Yeah, what things but I think everyone should understand when the first time that you started very important, and you can get those times in your eyes when you look at some of the possibility of doing really well. Wow, like, and not all those posts are really good. Yeah. Right. So you're like, you look at this, like, man, I can do this. This is a picture of a hotel room, right?
Yeah, I was just like, I went to this restaurant and look at these like 10 I'm edited. Like, photos versus the price? Yeah, I mean, how much would that get in baby, they made a couple hundred dollars. But like, if you look closer, like those people have been working at it like they can have thousands of followers. And they've been posting consistently and engaging consistently over a long period of time. Right.
So like, if you're just new to the platform, and it can be discouraging when you think you post something really good and appropriate, really good, but it makes no money. It gets no traction. Yes. Now views even I wouldn't get disheartened by that, like many of most of my posts, they don't make any money. I just posted my introduction post and I put a lot of thought into that and I really went out of my way to do something original, and that one got traction, like it made over $100 on it. It's still going but most of my other posts did nothing.
And personally, I am gonna lie like I wish all my posts did really well. But at the same time, I don't realize that mean it for the long run. And the way I see it is like nothing. Just magically delicious, like, year ago, may 21 cents on our first post. And now because the well and the same goes for a number of other well established seniors. If we can build a one year from now, we may also have a bigger following and our posts will make more money.
Don't focus on my money right now. I think everyone who first comes to steam it was attracted by the prospect of sharing content and get rewards in exchange. And that is the potential but it takes time and until you get to the point like if that is your drive, you're going to get this hard on the public like a friend of mine she came to the summit as he posted a couple times to the admin on money now she thought yeah, as because does not bring the right mindset when it comes to take and not to have to give Yeah, so I'm just focusing during like engaging with a lot of artists demons trying to write really good posts and I just take the whole like money aspect out of it. I'm just trying to have a lot of fun and really get to know the platform really get to know what works.
Yeah, I think it's really good to also see what people that are successful Do you can learn a lot from like how they structure the polls, how to create the titles and engage with the following. mentioned having a lot of fun. I'll tell you something that I've noticed you do that I haven't got around to. And, and that's good. advice, gifts, I should say, gifts that move, and you're very good at that. But you mentioned titles as well.
Another thing you're very good at is short paragraphs. Streaming is short paragraph city, and they tend to work you tend to theorize it's the same in a blog post, but it it's even more fun to clean your writing. So much like sign language, you know, your eyes kingstown the the post very quickly and people tend to comment on images and gifts more, more more than anything else. So So what was your take on that? composing a post or even a comment? When I first started out, I was mostly leaving comments.
I was like, What is your way to get noticed by adding a visual? I just personally really like gifts. I'm not saying everyone should use gifts, but I just using gifts. gifts. Yeah, so I tried to find a gift that that matches what I'm saying. Right?
Yeah. Which goes for them. giffy calm. Yeah. Gee, I tip Ah, yeah, yeah. Because the biggest and you just get a URL from there.
Slap it in the in the comment. Yeah. Famous as if you post an image. Okay, as I do that, Cuz like that if especially if there's like a long trail of comments, your one exam will, I mean, you will notice, hopefully often as well and then that can start a conversation. So that was my original thought. But I also just added because I just like visual.
I've got another question actually might come from that because this is gonna sound a little bit, a little bit crawly, but a little bit funny, but you did get an upvote from someone who might be considered a while. So we'll just briefly say that everyone on Steam, it has a reputation scores is about 100. I'm on about 44, you're on about 50 to 52. And that goes up quite quickly. You're about 25 when you start Yeah, you can go down cause if you really post a lot of dodgy content but anyway, but if a whale if somebody with a high reputation score up votes Your post, it's counting more than if somebody who just joined the platform upvoted your post, and I believe you got an upvote from someone with a high reputation on your introduce on your introductory post. Maybe you got to know him through one of your gifts in your comments.
But what I think may have happened is that one, and this is actually something I encourage everyone to do as well. Let me just do a really good way to get started, again, is this very contest, there are all kinds of photography contests, and the way you can get noticed, especially a very nice photo. Like lots of different contests. And one thing is not a contest, but it was more again, something that I spent a lot in is the speed poker league. I used to play poker online. I haven't done much anymore, but there are still dollar free rolls.
That's a good way to get started and earn my first team dollars. A lot of fun. We have our own discord channel. And it's hosted I suppose by talk for man, I pronounce the correct. So when like a couple of weeks ago, I was in the chat box, and I asked him like, okay, like, I know, we're not sharing our posts here. But I will share my introduction post soon.
And I think maybe it for everyone was sitting on the tables with each other, but maybe, like, we don't know each other, right? So like, maybe I can share this post here. And so we'll be not waiting for other players to get to know me. But I asked him in the past with permission, and it's actually posted in the book or promotion channel. So a couple weeks later, I did and he was one of the first people to follow up. And from what I can tell, like his phone can be valuable.
So maybe that was, you know, but that shows like, in the beginning, I was engaging. I didn't ask him for a vote and I'm not sure if this meant but if it did, like, it's just That if you engage in an app or something, you may get something in return anyway. Yeah, yeah. And you also you mentioned Discord. discord is a messaging a group messaging app. And that is quite important to steam it because I use it for the PA l channel.
Peace, abundance and liberty. I think that's the ultimate in our support project is from the Minister for project and that is a good way to get sort of interested in upvotes to your posts when you're first starting out, but you're talking about a different channel together. And that would only be relevant for you if you were very good at poker, which I should imagine not everyone, I'm certainly not that good. Well, you can always get back he used to do it online. That's why I stopped. I'm not playing poker.
That's that's, that's not to say that to say. And Okay, so, we got through a few, a few points there. Is there anything else you'd like to talk about? A piece of advice about hosting or, or commenting or anything about statements. Well, we've already touched on it. And I would just say like, focus on having fun.
Take out the whole money aspect. Don't focus on rewards focus on what you can contribute. And I like I just, I have no doubt that it will result in rewards at some point down the road. Yeah. Take the whole thing out and I find it very detaching from that is very liberating. Yeah, it really is when you don't think about what it is very liberating.
Yes. Because money doesn't really really know important. Yeah. And And that brings us nicely. You're having fun on steam it. That brings us nicely into the question of perhaps live now and while what do you what do you post about and and because maybe there's someone listening who'd like to fully?
Sure. Well, I just thought it out. I started the two series travel now Wow, yummy. Now while these evolutions are focusing on right now will probably expand because there's so many different things interesting I like to write about now I write mostly about travel and about travel and food. And the two things together in that, you know, you're talking about Thai food and getting these Yeah, I mean there's nothing overlap between someone else. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And that's another thing you talk about. That's not that much. That's, that's said I would recommend. Good cheese. fried snacks. Yeah, yeah.
Okay, so if you want if you're interested in travel and food, who is interested in my the one or both of those, then follow live now and wow. But for now, I'm going to leave it My name is Rob coven. Rob coming on, steam it. And thank you very much for listening. We'll see you in the next video. So do some 10 times bigger than you What do I look big in the gym?
I did yoga this morning for the first time in a while well done. So much pain. I was so stiff. You're grounded I am Rob coven on steam it What am I? How sorry. Yeah, good point.
There he says that that that thing that we'll be looking at each other. Yeah okay sure yeah
