Definition of food:

Definition of nutrition:

It is dependent of Digestion of which there are 2 sides:

Anabolism – Using the nutrients in the food within the body for Growth, Maintenance or Repair.
What is a diet?
A DIET is what you eat on a daily, weekly , monthly, yearly basis.
It is finding out what you need to power your daily activities and then consuming that in the form or food.
This could be eating high or low calories…It is not starving yourself.
eg. Professional Swimmers eat 8000-12000 calories per day as they eat to power their calorie expenditure.
We will show you in this course how to power your own personal energy expenditure and tie that into your personalised goals.
A healthy diet should:
Include all the essential nutrients in their Recommended Daily Amounts (RDAs)
Provide energy consistent with the maintenance of a healthy body composition
Support all your working and training sessions and give energy for your day
Aid timely recovery from training sessions
Provide for Long-term Health
Be Achievable and Sustainable over time (i.e. Life Nutrition).
