What is holding out? 

Basically holding out is having something in your hands or on your body that no one is aware of. When you have a coin in the palm of your hand and you rest your hands freely like there's nothing there, that's holding out. 

When you are able to have many items up to your sleeve and you can still present yourself, speak and gesture without anyone suspecting anything, you're holding out successfully.
