Hello, my name is Pedro Magrin Tannús, also known as Mago Magrin. I’m a clinical psychologist, speaker, and professional magician living in Brazil. The magician part of me dominates my whole life. I've always been attracted to magic and mystery.

In the beginning, it was more practical jokes and pranks but when I started getting older things became more elaborate and I started learning actual magic tricks. Not from magicians but from my parent’s friends and people who already knew a few things along with their lives. I also began to do some research on my own on how to learn about magic to become a professional. In this sense, I've always been a magician, since I was a kid.

In the meanwhile, I did what any other person would do. I went to school, I learned about school subjects, took the tests, failed some, did what any other kid would do, but parallel to that I was studying magic way harder than I was studying for school. And in these studies, I would try stuff out on people, and it wouldn't always work, but when it did work, I realized that the magic I brought to people made them forget temporarily about all their concerns and all their problems and they just smiled and laughed and felt good. That really motivated me.

At the time, I was taking a theatre class, and the teacher asked me if I wanted to do a presentation during the intermission of one of his plays. I said yes, of course. and on that day someone from the audience came up to me. That day got me my first paid gig at a birthday party. A little while later I was working bars and restaurants, but still had the determination to go through college.

At first, I studied to be a veterinarian, and then I got into animal science. I decided that with all the knowledge I had from Magic I should apply it somewhere better than animal science or vet school, and realized that I really enjoyed focusing on people and their interactions. So I started searching and that search became the research and I started studying psychology on my own. 

Finally, I realized that on my own I couldn't get all the information I needed,  I could only go so far. So I decided to apply for a psychology degree. I realized in the psychology graduation that much of what I needed had already been learned through Magic. 

My posture and body language, my listening skills, observational awareness, empathy, my ability to interpret what other people might be thinking and might say, anticipating certain situations accurately and controlling the environment in favor of my presentation, all those things where fine-tuned throughout years of practice and were incredibly valuable and relevant for the psychology graduation. As of today, I have my consulting office for personal sessions and hold orientational Skype calls for my clients. And I have never stopped doing magic to people wherever I go.
