About the Class
This class includes Chapters 4 and 5 of the Lean Management Playbook which address workplace organization and transparency. One field trial kit and a self-assessment quiz are included. "Amazing Tools" in this class include 5S Organizing and Visual Controls.
Chapter 4 describes the Lean technique of 5S organizing and presents examples of various types of workspaces to be cleaned including both physical and online/virtual spaces. The purpose and beneficial effects of the technique are explained.
Field Trial: 5S Event kit including instructions and supporting documents.
Chapter 5 presents the concept of a transparent workplace and the five types of "visual controls" that are commonly used. Paul Akers, the Founder of FastCap, shows his workplace kitchen and all of the visual controls that they have deployed to make it easier for everyone to use and easier for everyone to straighten, and keep clean.
