Hello, in this video tutorial, I'm going to show you how to set up Python for Python programming on a Mac. So first of all, you want to open up my brother, just literally Google Python, or directly go to python.org. And then go to downloads and go to Mac OSX. And from here, the latest release for version three in version two will be displayed. The ones below or just do the releasing to have occurred which include the releases, but there are release candidate and beta release as well. I just recommend just using the latest release.
And if you don't specifically need Python to some other applications that require Python for installing for example, wire Python two, then install Python two. If you don't just go to Python three. So go to latest release scroll Down to files, or Mac OSX come to one of these two files. If you specifically need a 52 bit version, select this one. Otherwise, just stick with the 64 bit installer. So click that your download a pkg file, it's not very big at all, it's just 25.7 megabytes.
And when we open it, I'll take you through the installation process. So it is extremely simple to install it. And it doesn't take very long at all to actually install it. Once we've installed this, we'll have Python installed, and we'll be able to use the ID to be able to program in Python. Mac has some Python drivers built in so you can actually run Python files from the terminal but this just provides RDP, as well as a slightly more elegant way of running it just means you're a bit more consistent if you're doing it on something like Windows. So once it's installed once it's nearing the end of installation, this window will pop up once it's done, click Close.
And we'll move the installer to the trash we don't need it anymore. Open up the ideally for this is within applications in Python and then ideally, From here, you can run the Python files or could just do open for example, bombing the new files I don't have one. And in here I'm in this simple print line. This isn't a Python programming tutorial by any This is just a set of video and I'll have other videos covering the programming side of it. So I'm gonna save it to the desktop on the corner. Hello.
Now that they save So let's run run module. As you can see, it is running and it says hello world. So it's that simple to install Python on a Mac OSX. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. And as usual, thank you for watching, and I look forward to seeing you in the next video.
