Alright, welcome to inter with intent. So this is a brand new training that is really going to give you the foundation to building your business if you solely want to use Instagram, okay, so so as we get going, this is really building the foundation to your Instagram strategy. And then in a later training, I'm going to really deep dive into some of the really heavy stuff that can really transform your business if you just want to use Instagram as your business strategy tool. So first of all, we are going to do this on a seven day plan. Okay, so do this over the course of seven days. And you will start to see some of the changes in your Instagram strategies and see some of those results.
Coming through. So today is day one, we are going to talk about building the foundations. Okay, building a strong foundation for your Instagram account. You cannot build a solid business on a weak Foundation, right? So that's what we're going to talk about here. So, we're going to talk mostly about your bio for day one.
Okay, so your bio consists of a headline, and your bio, a call to action and the URL in the call to action. So when we think about our headline, that's where it says beauty marketing with Rene, okay? You want to this is a this is a one line, yet there's only certain amount of characters that you can use. You have to keep a really, really concise and clear but what you want to do is you want to make sure that you're using strong keywords because when people are searching for Certain things in the search bar, um, Instagram connects these keywords to those things so that you can pop up into somebody else's feed if they're searching for a hairstylist. So in my case, obviously I now my Instagram is focused on marketing. My other focus as a hairstylist would be, you know, Renee, for your hairstylist, or Renee for Ario, Minneapolis hairstylist or Renee, you know, Minneapolis hairstylist, something like that, where it's giving you know your location, what you do, as you know, hairstylist, makeup artist, whatever it is that you do as your profession and make sure that your name is in there.
So you want to use these strong keywords. In that one line of headlines. Sometimes you might have to do some abbreviations, but make sure that you have those keywords in your headline. Okay, step number two. Your bio is Is the next few lines that you see under health and beauty here. Now, this is where again, you want to be clear, concise, short and descriptive in this area, and again using some of those key words.
So in my case because I am in marketing, I help beauty experts reach more income. I'm the founder of hashtag beauty market. You can contact me at Renee for Renee at Brio collective calm, and, and then I call out a URL call to action and I'm telling you what specifically to do. So what the way that this breaks down is, you want to describe what you do. Maybe you're a Bollywood artist, maybe you're a makeup artist, maybe you are a specifically do airbrush makeup. Put that in here.
I like to break these different things up into a few different lines. And, and just having the emojis in there is kind of something that just creates a little bit more color to your bio, something that makes it a little bit more interesting and playful. shows a little bit about maybe your personality. So, you know, definitely add something in there that is going to separate the few different things in your bio. If you own another account, or if you started a hashtag, if you have your branded hashtag put that in your bio. So if your branded hashtag is you know, Ferrari Oh hair, then put, you know creator of Ferrari, oh hair, or you know, follow hashtag Ferrari O'Hare, something like that in there so that people know that you.
You own that space on Instagram as well. Then you want to have a call to action. Okay. So you want to give them a way to contact you. And, you know, so I gave my my professional email here. And then I also have a URL listed at the bottom.
So when and I'll show this to you in just a moment. But you want this to be legible and trackable. A lot of people are starting to move away from using Bitly links. But the links are great for different parts of your marketing systems, maybe in your ads, or things like that, where you have to shorten your links so that it fits within a certain, you know, character length. But the thing about Instagram is they want to see, you know, some people when they see a bitly link, they will they'll sometimes they'll automatically think that it's a spammy account, or, or that you're just not legitimate in some way. So you want to have your own branded URL.
From your website, where you've created, you know, a specific, something that you're giving to your audience, and you want to make sure that you are telling them what to do with that link, if you just have radio collective comm just a general website link, and I don't have anything telling them what that is or what to do with it. Like I've mentioned before, we really really have to hold the hands of our viewers and tell them specifically what to do. Okay, so that's, um, that's number one. So editing your bio, I'm just going to show you this video real quick here and walk you through this. So you're going to click on Edit Profile, you can click in here and edit your, your headline, edit your username, edit the link. So when it says website, that's like I said, don't just put your website link.
Make sure That it's a specific link to do something. And that should be to subscribe to your newsletter, it should be set to subscribe to your website, whatever that is, you want them to do something with that link. Okay, then here is where we can add an action button. This is what we're going to get into a little bit later. And for us, we're going to be using for our booking, we're going to be using set more. So you can choose that more here, and then put in your booking URL to your set more page.
And then that will give you the book button that you see right here. And you'll see that it goes directly to your booking page. And again, like I mentioned, I'm going to talk about using set more in greater detail in a later training. But for now, those are some just some an overview of how you can edit your bio. Alright, and then the What I want you to do as your homework is, check your headline, I want you to list out three potential headlines that could work for your headline in your bio. Number two is I want you to actually write out your bio.
So think about what the purpose of your account is, is it to get more clients? Is it to, you know, to showcase that you do one specific thing, how many people? How can people get in touch with you? Are there multiple ways to get in touch with you? And I want you to list out one fun personal trait. Okay?
So maybe that is that it's, you know, you are the founder of this hashtag, whatever that is, but a lot of times, it's just it's if you don't have enough to put in your bio, put something a little bit fun and playful in there as well. Same with like having this lion, this lion emoji up in my headline, that's just something that I've always used for myself. And so it just kind of describes, you know me in in an emoji. So that's kind of like my fun little personal trait. And then make sure that you have a CTA, which is your call to action. So I want you to list out three reasons why the user should visit the link in your bio, and always have something to point down on that link.
So like, I have the emoji pointing down, you can use an arrow, you can use anything that directs the eye to take action on whatever that link is there. If you have a landing page that has some kind of opt in for a new client offer, put your link there and make sure that you direct their AI to this link. Okay. And this link could be ever changing. So if you have a different promotion going on. Right now, like you see here, my promotion is Black Friday dash 2018.
So it's bf dash 2018 Probably going to swap this link out, you know, in the next couple of days, so once that's finished then I will put in a new link for something else. Okay. So that's what I want you to do for day one and I'll see you in the next training for day two.
