The first cause of procrastination, and these are in no particular order is feeling overwhelmed. You know what you need to do, you know, the plan, you know, you just need to sit down and get started on it. But it's such a big thing that whenever you think about it, it's just it just feels like it's too much. With this, it can come about if you're trying to write something huge, like a novel or a PhD thesis, or something that you know, will take months if not years to get done. It's natural to feel overwhelmed with something that just feels like it has no end date to it. Or the end date is so far in the future.
You can barely imagine what to do. In this case, at least this is what works for me is to simply take the smallest step in the right direction. If you are wanting to write a novel Can you write a paragraph? That's all you need to do. Because if you write enough paragraphs that eventually you'll have your novel. If it feels too overwhelming for you to even see the end, then don't worry about the end.
