Hello, in this video we are going to discuss what Ajax is. So first of all Ajax stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. And you know why would use it, you'd use it because they allow you to essentially update in our part of your website without reloading the whole page. I'm so sure you've been on website, you've clicked a button, and some part of it changes. And there's data that's been retrieved from, you know, some backing or like a database, for example. And one example can be if you're on a social network site, be annoying if every time you post a comment, it will reload the page for that comment to actually display or you will have to reload the page for you to see all new comments back in the day.
That's how stuff was but Ajax have been around for a long time now. And luckily, you we can get data without having to reload the page. So it's a technique for creating really fast and dynamic web pages. And that's really all you need to know, any pretty much any sort of website that you use from, you know, YouTube to Facebook, to Google Maps to, you know, Amazon to anything will use Ajax in some form is one of the sort of technologies that's used by virtually all websites, or, you know, all websites or any sort of substantial functionality, and by literally all big companies, that Ajax is really, really cool. I'll be covering that over the next few videos. If you have any questions, feel free to pop me a message and usual, I look forward to seeing you in the next video.
