Hello, in this video we are going to cover custom error handling. So if I echo $1, or for example, and I run down an error, it says undefined variable. Because I is we haven't actually created the we haven't used it yet. So that's, you know, an error. But we can create a custom error handler. So it prints you know the error off slightly differently.
A can your formatting, formatting anyway, does it bold, this color board on this bold, you could color grab it a JavaScript, you could add, you know, not the errors as well. So when someone error occurs, you can log it in a database. That way you can check with name get email, or if you really want to go you know that specific in terms of error handling. And so what we want to do is create a function as a function error handler. And this is basically going to be Our error handlers only code when we when an error is triggered. So there's two parameters that are required error level and error message, but this five total parameters and on top of those two, there's the file, line number and error context.
So we're going to print out all of them so you can see what you would guess and then get error, level error. Message error file under an error level, per level, mess, foil. Then the last two was line number, line and context. So let's print all this code dollar level. And I'm gonna format it with a new line. So the printer.
And finally, it is always recommended that you die at the end of this. So you know all the time effort, but a separate video on that just prevent the exclusion of the rest of the code. And if there's anything else when that error gets triggered at the moment, if I just run down for that same, you know, error problem, just because we haven't actually assigned the error handler, we need to do set error handler as soon as we sit there and let the old handler which is the default one would No no, you for me only time from current era gets triggered. This will be Course, error handler, the name of it, you don't need to pass anything in, that gets passed in automatically when an error occurs, there we go. So this is the error. And eight is the level, the message is undefined variable is the soil.
This is the file, the line number is 16, which makes sense. And then finally, we get this, the actual context, which is similar to what we had before. So you could still, you know, sort of access in a similar format. You could format this in that you can echo out, you know, HTML, CSS, JavaScript will be popping up as something like an alert, it could be logging out to the console with a bunch of any PHP that you can do, you can do here, then create custom error messages.
