Description: During this section, we will navigate the Kinesiology and Biomechanics in a self-paced learning style online.  This is found in chapter 10, starting on page 488.  Some of the learning objectives are :

  • Explain the basic principles of biomechanics
  • Implement biomechanical principles in the massage therapy body mechanics and ergonomics
  • Explain and assess the function of the kinetic chain
  • List principles for a massage intervention plan based on efficient biomechanical movement
  • Assess mechanical function using individual joint assessment
  • Assess biomechanical functions for regions of the body.
  • Identify and describe the three main biomechanical dysfunctional patterns and the associated indications and contraindications for massage/bodywork.

At the end of this section, you will be asked to complete a section quiz.
