Hi, my name is Karen Ray. I'm a personal historian and freelance writer based in New Mexico. Welcome to the class. During the course of these next few videos sessions, I'll be teaching you a quick start for your memoir. And during this time, you will be creating a project of your very own. That will give you a roadmap, a mind mapping poster or example that you can refer to later if you would like to add more content or it can be a standalone project that will just bring you a lot of fun and focus to your life story.

I believe everybody's life story is unique. And I enjoy traveling backroads and visiting with folks that aren't famous places that are not well known and figuring out what the unique backstory is and helping people to share it. Most people have spent a significant amount of time and money ensuring that their funds Financial legacy is in place. I believe it's even more important to ensure that your life experiences your memories and your values are shared with those that you love. And this is a chance for you to do that. Many people have said over a dinner table to someone that they love.

You should write that down someday or you should write a book. Well, now's your chance. Here's a quick start that'll finally get you off of the starting block. And you will be able to make some progress and come up with something that you can be proud of a project you can share with your family, and hopefully get them involved in doing one of their own. There are many reasons to create a personal history or a memoir, you might do it to preserve important family memories and stories. You might do it to connect the generations.

You might do it to set the story straight or to heal from something in your life. During this class, we'll create a fun project. And that will be a mind map and keep you on track with the five W's of your life story. We'll go through the who, what, when, where and why I'll walk you through each of those steps and give you the easy tools that you need to go ahead and complete this project and have a whole lot of fun in the process.
