To start painting, we're going to start by painting the glass bottle here. So with my number six brush, just gonna wet my brush and I'm going to just lightly do a coat around the perimeter of the bottle, avoiding the cork here. And because I want the bottle to look transparent, I'm going to do it in purples and blues. Very subtle color and a little bit of gray for the cloudiness of the bottle. So I put a couple of dollops of water on my paper and I'm going to take some of the surly and blue and mix it in to get a very light color. They'll take a little of this ultramarine blue and mix that as well.
Again, I just want a very light color. Going to mix some of this purple in with this ultramarine blue, just to get a little purple hue go back Add a little bit of black on my palate and just mix in a teeny bit with both of these colors to tone them down somewhat, soften them out. And then I'll just lighten that all together. So now I have three very faint colors. With the tip of my brush, I'm just going to go in there. And with the gray, I'm going to do a little bit more of the gray than on with the other two colors.
So maybe 50% of this glass, I'll deposit some of this light gray on the area we wet and I'll create the outline shape of this bottle this perimeter with a nice sharp point, I'm going to go up here to the cork area and just lightly trace that perimeter and carve that out. I'm not going over the area with the cork just the bottle right now. I'll go in there and dip in a little more color. Come down here on the curve of the bottle, and I'm leaving a little gap between each of these sections. Only working on the perimeter right now. Gonna take a little bit of color here for this top of the bottle, just on the edge of rinse off my brush and remove a good portion of the water with the brush to be still a little damp.
And I'm just going to go and blend any of the sections here. I don't want any harsh lines. So it's a very subtle look. And the color is light so it will dry very light. Up here I'm going to blend out the edge here. But I'm going to leave a little darkness just to the base here by the cork.
Going with my brush with this blue and I'll deposit some of that color, various areas leaving the center of the bottle dry. Then I'll come back in with this purple and go in some of their areas that we didn't add pigment to just yet. Then in that area where I clean my brush, I'm going to just wet it again. And I'll pull some color in the center and it'll be a very light, faint color. Take a little bit of that purple, and go in some areas here, and that little lip of the glass. And then we'll do the same thing with the blue.
Just want a little bit of a distinct color showing. I'll go in here with my blue whatever's on my brush around this label here. And then I'll rinse my brush, remove most of the water but it's still going to be damp. And then I'll just kind of blend here and there. Just have any harsh lines. I still want some areas of the paper to be white.
I'll go around making sure the edges are nice and clean. And we'll let this layer dry our first layer of the glass
