To use the template, I just need a light source. For the demonstration I'm using this light pad, which you can acquire on Amazon or at art supply stores. But you can use a window any light sources fine. Just the light coming from the window would work. These are simple illustrations of line art that you can easily trace. But before we do any tracing, we have to select which way we want to use our image.
So here I have included three placement ideas, one requires just the main image. And for that, that would be just our tequila bottle here with a along with the title and then detects the explanation of the recipe. So that would be the most simple one, requiring text. The second one is where the image the main image is in the center of the paper. And then we have our steps or our ingredients surrounding it. And so that's the second image and then the third idea for placement requires Putting the main image in one corner, a third of the paper really, and then having the steps surrounded to one side.
And obviously, you can flip this and put your main image on the right instead of the left and have the image the steps around it that way, I've also included the text that I use in the demo, then you can include, or you can modify it however you'd like. So when I want to trace my image, I think I'm going to use this example, but I'm going to flip it over. So we'll do the inverse. So it's really a fourth suggested image. And so to do that, I'm just going to keep in mind that my main image is going to be in the corner and my steps are going to surround it. I don't need to refer back to this any further but I can if I want.
But to do that, what I need to do is now put my image, my template onto my light source, and then I illuminate it and then I placed my paper where I want to trace my image But he's a very light hand. And I'm going to put my main image here in this corner, and then the steps and the title surrounding it. So I'll speed up the actual tracing process so you can see the entire procedure, and then we'll come back. From here, I want to include the various steps which in this case, use the ingredients. So I'll move my paper and I'll start sketching the title first and then the ingredients. So now that I have my image sketched out, I'm going to go in there and fine tune any errors or sloppiness that I did here.
Now this is where you'll want to fine tune the image to your tastes. So if you don't want to use jalapenos if you want to use a different type of pepper, this is where you would modify that as well. You can also if you'd like to put in a border, you can sketch a little outline around your piece. or not, it's up to you. I don't do any of the writing of my text yet. So my explanation of how to proceed with the recipe, I do that after I have my image painted, and if I decide that I want to add a frame, or another little illustration, I can do that later as well.
But I know that these are the basics that I want to have down on my painting. So I'll start this way. The next step will start the actual painting process.
