Now here we are at the end of this core lesson on choosing the right people to be in your life and getting rid of the bad people. I like to end this with the mystery question answered. And if you'll recall from the beginning of this lesson, I asked you to look at the people you spend the most time with. Most time you spent with yesterday, last week, and generally from there, I asked you to choose the top five people that you spend time with. Now you've identified those top five people. And not only did you do that, you identified their positive and negative qualities.
So can you guess, why did I ask you to identify the five people you spend the most time with, and their positive and negative qualities? Any guesses? Well, something pretty interesting happens when you hang out with these particular five people. Jim Rohn once said You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. And this happens to be scientifically accurate. The people you spend the most time with, they rub off on you, they influence you directly and indirectly, you take on the qualities, both positive and negative of those five people.
Now this may happen quickly, or it may happen slowly, but it still happens. Take another look at those positive qualities. Take another look at those negative qualities. Are these positive qualities, the ones you want? And are these negative qualities ones you want to stay away from? It might seem unfair or a little bit cruel, but these five people you want to make sure are the people who are going to be making you better for today and in the future.
And if they're not, you should do something about that. So consider that seriously. And don't forget once again Become the teacher. Now, do you have any friends or family who are hanging around the wrong people? If so, talk to them. Do you have friends or family who are hanging around the right people, congratulate them and yourself.
Be one of those positive persons so that those around you will benefit just from your presence. Take what you've learned today and spread the good news. All right, guys and girls. That wraps it up for this core lesson on the right people. Stay tuned for the next one, embracing failure and learning from it.
