Hi, this is Dr. Day. And I first want to just say, congratulations for finishing the course, I know that this course has taught you so much information that you didn't know before about how to manage and reverse your diabetes. So we started in the very beginning with goal setting and having you really think about what kind of goals do you want to set for yourself in small increments, so that you can actually achieve your goal of having the life that you want to have? Because that's what we want for you. And then from there, we looked at what are the definitions of diabetes to make sure that you understand what's actually happening in your body, what's supposed to happen from a normal perspective, and what places your body has started to go out of the normal range and actually create this disease process for you. And by reversing it how you can remove the complications That can actually change the quality and the quantity of your life.
Then we actually started looking at what are Whole Foods? What kinds of foods should you put on your plate? And what proportion should you put them on your plate? Because we do and you put them in the right proportion with the right portion sizes, it can help stabilize your blood sugar. And for those of you that are dealing with insulin, it actually can help reduce the amount of insulin that you're actually taking in as well. From there we looked at how movement and exercise can be a very, very important part of your process and lifestyle.
And it is not just cardiovascular but really toning your muscles. Resistance exercises are the things that actually pull the glucose out of the bloodstream so that your blood sugar's will stabilize and you can maintain a healthy The weight of healthy blood sugar, have more energy, increase the quality of your sleep and reduce your risk of other diseases, like heart disease, for example. And then in the next chapter, what we really looked at is we looked at sleep, and how important sleeping is to actually help you reduce insulin resistance. Because if you're not getting enough sleep, then that actually causes your insulin resistance to go up. And then stress management technique, who really realized that there is this relationship between feeling stress, the hormones that were being released from being stressed and how they actually interact with insulin and actually can cause your blood sugar's to go rollercoaster rides up and down.
So we took a holistic approach of looking at all of the different things, understanding what they are and how they make a difference between Your success and being able to bounce your blood sugar's and you're not being able to. So I really just wanted to thank you for taking the time to improve the quality of your life for your spouse. Because when you have health, it's good for you, but also for others for all the people that you love and that you want to spend time with, the healthier you are, the more you're able to be there for them. It's been my honor and pleasure to actually walk you through this entire process. And I know that following the simple steps that we talked about will make a huge difference in the quality of your life and your ability to actually like get your blood sugar's under control and maintain them.
So just keep up the good work, the more consistent you are on all of these levels, the more your blood sugar's will go back to normal, and then those larger numbers like the A ones, the fasting glucose and all of that, they will come down.
