Each student has different reasons for learning a foreign language. For some, it is to impress someone they love, for others, it is necessary for school or work. One thing we all have in common is that our initial goal in learning a new language is to retain enough content so we can survive. One day you may want to travel and want to experience as much as that culture has to offer you by being well-versed in the new language. Every challenge we have given you throughout this course will bring you closer to your own personal goals.

This lesson will be your final challenge. You need to find someone who has good to great reading skills. Pronouncing words on this list is not easy. You will be tempted to pronounce the words on each column differently because of their spelling. As you read this list with someone very fluent in English, ask them what the words mean. You will be amazed at how different the meaning of these words is.

Cada estudiante tiene diferentes razones para aprender un idioma extranjero. Para algunos, es impresionar a alguien que aman, para otros es necesario para la escuela o el trabajo. ¡Una cosa que todos tenemos en común es que nuestro objetivo inicial de aprender un nuevo idioma es retener suficiente contenido para que podamos sobrevivir.
