Okay, so this exercise that we're going to be looking at the awareness, awareness of shoulder being raised up. So very important because so many of us are completely disconnected the sense that we're doing this a couple of reasons as a big thing called neural adaptation where the brain after a while, when you first did this, maybe when you were younger, it would send a message to the brain to say, hey, you need to do something about this, you're over contracted for a long period of time. But when it keeps sending that message to the brain, over time, if you don't do anything about it, the brain says, Well, actually, maybe this is fine. And we don't need to do too much about that. So what that means then is the brain kind of starts to ignore it until that pain signal starts to get switched up louder and louder and louder and louder.

And that's why you get to a point where it's excruciating pain rather than just kind of a doorway because over years of ignoring And then that's going to happen to you. So this exercise is teaching you to rebuild that awareness around this tissue. To give you an understanding of what's going on between the two sides, I tend to hold my right shoulder up a lot, sometimes it can be a stress response. So what we want to do is retrain the body. So that sound level of stretches. Stress is natural and healthy.

Otherwise, you know, I wouldn't even get out of bed sometimes in the morning if there wasn't the stress of having to pay some bills. But it's how do we actually respond in that situation. And a lot of the time, we kind of fall into this tense pattern when we're under stress. And in the past, that was fine fight or flight response, a lion. You can either find it or run away, which has probably been what I would do. But instead it's more of an email or something's not going on with the computer or we're stuck in this vital fire response behind a computer in the brain can relive the scenario over and over again.

So we get stuck in this fight. Have a response. And what research is now showing that if you do that over a long enough period of time, the body learns the sympathetic response. And it gets stuck in this in this stress response. But maybe we will look at that at a at a future, of course or program here, but right now we're just looking at rebuilding the awareness around the shoulder pattern and helping you with that.
