Welcome to 20 moves in 20 days, this is your very first day. And I'm so excited to introduce you to the five basic positions of ballet for your feet. So we're going to start with our feet in parallel. And then what we're going to do for our first position is to open up our toes. So we're going to have one foot out and the other foot out. It's not necessary to have a force turnout.
Sometimes people have a lot of natural turnout, and they can really, really push it but the majority of us don't have that and you don't need it. And as you work and continue with ballet, you'll actually have more turnout eventually anyway, so don't stress about it if it's not too far open yet. So this is first position with your heels together and your toes apart. Then from there, we're going to have our second position with our teeth. We're going to Tom do out and I'll explain that in just a couple days. We're going to talk to you about we're going to put our heel down And then with a little bit more width in between our feet still turned out, this is going to be your second position.
Okay, then we have third position. third position is when your heel connects to the inside of your other foot arch, okay, still turned out as much as we can, not forcing it just having a nice, comfortable turnout. And then from there we have fourth position, which is a little bit further out. So as you can see my toe and heel are in line here and in line here, and again, I'm using setting my full turnout, I can, but I'm also not forcing it. Okay. And then finally, we have our fifth position which is going to close our feet, heel and toe are connecting and your other side does not have to.
And then as you again continue to work with your ballet positions, you'll eventually have better turnout as you continue on. But one more time. We have our first position here, heels are together, toes are apart. Then we have our second position here. third position, heel to arch, fourth position, heels in line. I'm actually gonna scoot back just a little bit.
So we're right here. And then fifth position, heel and toe together, and then the other side could be open a little bit. Those are your first five basic Valley positions. Good job.
