There are five things that you need to consider before declaring if someone is having social anxiety disorder. The first one is having fear of acting in an inappropriate way. So if you have this intuitive voice that always tells you that you are going to act in the wrong way, you are going to deliver it in a wrong way. If there is a critical voice in you, that always tells you that you will feel humiliated and embarrassed after doing this, then you are experiencing social anxiety disorder. The second sign that you're having a social anxiety disorder is panic attacks. Okay?
So if your heart suddenly starts beating very fast, if you suddenly start breathing very fast, if you feel shivers, if you feel chills, or if you start sweating. If you start feeling like you're having a word to go or something, then you are having a panic attack. And if you have a panic attack, that means that you are experiencing social anxiety disorder. This might happen when you are going out for lunch while you are eating at McDonald's, or even while you're giving a presentation or while you are introducing yourself to a stranger or while you're approaching a girl, or while you are trying to propose someone. Okay, so this was the second indicator, which is panic attack. The third indicator is excessive or unreasonable fear, okay, excessive or unreasonable fear.
If you certainly feel nervous out of the blue then it is a sign that you are experiencing social anxiety disorder. Now you have to be aware enough and you have to be conscious enough to see in what particular situations Do you certainly feel as if you are experiencing an unreasonable Fear, okay, for me, I used to have social anxiety while going to restaurants, it was completely unreasonable, but it was there. Alright. So the fourth sign is avoiding situations or enduring with intense distress. So same thing, man, I used to go to restaurants. First of all I used to avoid going to restaurants.
And because I live away from my family, I have to you know, attend a canteens and you know, just go to Mass to have my daily lunch, but I used to avoid that. And I had changed many canteens just because I used to fear going to the canteen because I used to think that people will judge me based on my lungs based on my appearance or whatnot. Okay, so if you avoid situations, if you avoid situations or you You do actually adore them but with great distress, like, it becomes very stressful for you, then you are experiencing social anxiety disorder. And the last one is the fifth one is that if your fears are interfering with your day to day activities, like rooming yourself going to a job or college, and then you know socializing with your friends or doing basic things, then you are experiencing social anxiety disorder.
So these were the five, five indicators that you have some kind of social anxiety. Okay, if there are these five things, then that anxiety turns into a disorder.
