Hello, this is Rob here from Rob coven.com. Now we've got a case study here of how you can build a million dollar business without having to invest a single penny in advertising or promotion. So with WP curve, this is a million dollar business now. And it was started at the beginning of 2013. And they've never spent any money on advertising or promotion, all the growth. All the money from the company comes from three sources.

One of them is content marketing, of course, and the other happens to be the founders personal relationships that he developed through his content. They went from zero at the beginning of 2013 to half a million dollars annual run rate at the end of that very same year. WP curve is a WordPress productized service. They give you unlimited WordPress fixes on your website for a monthly recurring fee. Now, this didn't come from absolutely nothing. Dan Norris had 1000 monthly visitors to his website, and he had a small email list.

But that's all he had. And he started the service by putting a PayPal Buy Now button on his website and doing all the work himself. And then when the company grew, he just took on more web developers and admin staff. So that now as you can see the team size is 38 people. And the company has helped 900 customers and done over 4000 jobs, but it's quite staggering growth for a startup considering it didn't exist before January 2013. And then in August 2015, it has monthly running Write of nearly $75,000, all through content marketing.

So if you have a look at the blog at WP curve, you'll see every blog post has clicked the tweets subheadings, lots of links, really great detailed articles with screenshots and images, which are extremely helpful. And they get all the traffic the traffic comes in, because people share this on Facebook and Twitter. And the traffic comes in from Google as well as you can see their best articles there, which will give you a good idea of articles that you can write that will give you customers for free. But there's one other thing that Dan Norris did, it wasn't just the content, although it pretty much is just the content. However, it's worthwhile to explain there was another factor involved. And that is that Dan Norris was a member of a community.

Now this is a paid community called the dynamite circle. And as it's a paid community, and also not anyone can join it, you have to kind of say that you're earning so much a year online. And for that reason, there's some very high quality people and influencers in that community. And Dan was a member of this community added value to this community. And so when it came to him launching his new startup, a lot of them came on board in the first month or so. So there's about 1000 people on this community probably a bit more.

And I think only about 20 of them signed up in the first month for subscriptions. So it wasn't a huge great boost, but it was probably enough he needed to keep going in the first few months of the company. And after that the company grew through word of mouth through the content that he was creating on his blog at the company's domain WP curve calm. So I hope you enjoyed that.
