Hello, this is Rob here from Rob coven calm. Now, not only should you write content that is honest about what you know, and specific and engaging to people, so they want to share it, you can also write content with the following ideas in mind. This is an idea that you could happily create content about every day for the rest of your life. And I know it sounds simple, but all you've got to do is ask people, ask people in your social groups, ask people who are in your industry, ask people who are on your email list and ask people everywhere that you think are in your target audience. What do they want to consume content on. So if you're creating content, you must be collecting email addresses.
That's a given. email addresses are the most valuable to to any business. online these days now, one of the reasons that's so valuable is their great market research. So, always ask in an email, maybe the first in your autoresponder sequence, what are you struggling with? What's the number one issue you have in your business today? If you could wave a magic wand and have one problem disappear from your business, which one would it be?
Because the answers to these questions are invaluable. And you don't have to ask those general questions. If you don't want to, you can just ask a specific question and say, What do you want to know about email marketing or something like that? So that is great idea. Anyway, however, there are so many more ways you can ask and I've got some specific examples to show you that are going to blow your mind. Now firstly, I'm going to show you an example of something I did that did actually take me a little bit of time.
And that's because I contacted 30 or 40. influences, expert, graphic designers, and surveyed them and asked them for their opinions on various questions. So this took me a bit of time, it didn't take me a lot of time. But I did it with Google Forms, which is so easy. And if you don't know, just go to docs google.com forward slash forms, and hit the plus here, you have to be signed into Google, of course. And then you could give the form a name, give the form a description, ask a question, make it multiple choice, or paragraph text or checkboxes, or anything, it's so easy to create a form and then you just email out the link to people. You can get the link here and you just email them that they will enter their response and the answers will be collated into a Google spreadsheet.
So I think did that and I got the answers back from all these influences and experts and the answers were excellent. They were really interesting. What's more, it helped my relationship with them. I got to know several people that I might have been to sort of frightened to get in touch with for any other reason. So there it is. It was actually a good subject, some asking about hardware and software.
So I could give affiliate links in the blog post. And as you know, if anyone clicks on an affiliate link, you get paid, if they can buy the product, a commission, and the Commission's can sometimes be very generous. So there it is. lots of pictures, lots of subheads and there's actually a subhead and a sub sub head there. I went to town there, because there's bullet points and of course, I asked all these designers a big, big favor. They were very kind to do it.
I think all virtually all of them did. And as a small way of repaying them, I gave them a link back to their website, which would have been fairly valuable to them. So it's a win, win, win all around situation, just ask influences about their opinion on a subject, and then collate all that information in content form on your website, or anywhere else. There's another quicker way you can do that. Now I'm sure you're aware in your industry that there are some brilliant social media groups, great Facebook groups, great LinkedIn groups, even great Google Plus groups. And I knew of a fantastic links in group for WordPress.
One day, I just put a question in there. I'm looking to change my host what's the best hosting for WordPress? And the answers I got from great experts and influencers within the WordPress community. Were really great. The posts really blew up, I kept on getting answers. I've got hundreds and hundreds of answers.
And so I collated the results in a blog post. And I said, I asked a load of experts. And this is the answer. And I made it into two different blog posts, one for shared hosting, you see, I put the images and the affiliate links through to the hosts. And I added extra information. I also did it for VPS hosting.
So it's two different types of hosting. So I created two different blog posts. They're both very popular, a lot of people clicked on these affiliate links, and I got paid by the hosts for it. And I didn't even have to do any research myself. I just asked people in a social media group, it was a particularly good one, and I got particularly good answers. However, that was an extremely easy and not very time consuming way to just ask people ask people about what they want.
To read about and ask people their opinions, and if their opinions matter, and you think that they're good and you can collate them, so a number of people share the same opinion, then you can put that in a bit of content. And that is a fantastic way to create great and valuable content and to create and improve relationships with influencers and experts and other people in your niche.
