Hello, it's Rob here from Rob cabin calm. And I'm going to show you how to install Google Analytics. This is an incredibly important part of running a website, you need to know where your visitors are coming from, what they're interested in, and how you can convert them from visitors into customers. And you will find all of this out in Google Analytics for free. So when you're logged into Google search for analytics, and there you will see the first organic return is google.com slash analytics. So I'm signed in.
You want to go to admin at the top and there's my account, and I want to go to create a new property. So click Create new property and add a name and URL of the website. Okay, so I've entered the name the website you URL, the industry category and reporting timezone. So click get tracking ID. And there it is. We have tracking code there.
And it says you need to paste it into every page you want to track. So every page of your website, basically, I'm going to show you how to do that. Now there are several ways to add your Google Analytics tracking code to every page. Now I'm going to show you one of the most easy ways of doing it, go to plugins and add new and we want to search for Google Analytics and Yoast and Yoast is spelt like toast with a y. And I'm just going to do Yoast analytics. That should be enough to find it.
Google Analytics by Yoast, that's the one we want. As you can see, it's got a million active installs nice number of good reviews and it's been updated fairly recently, two months ago. So we'll install that Activate Plugin. And there it is activated. And we'll click Settings. And we want to authenticate with our Google account.
Or we can manually enter a ua code. So we're going to manually enter the UI code. But you can do it this way, if you wish. And now we're back on Google Analytics. Remember, all I did was set up a new property, and there is the you a code or the tracking ID. So that is all we need.
So I'm going to copy that and paste it in there. So we've manually entered the UA code, and we've saved changes and the settings are saved. And here we are. It's about 12 hours later, I've logged into the analytics for viable shot calm. And under audience overview, I've had to narrow down the date range to include today and there is one visit to the site. So we know it's working.
And analytics is something you want to have a look at after a few weeks or months. If you just started a site, if you've got a site up and running, then you want to have a look at it fairly regularly. So I hope that helps, how to set up Google Analytics.
