Hello, it's Rob Coburn here. Now you've written your article. Now there are a few things you need to remember before you press publish. So it's not enough to just write the article, you need to remember the categories, the tags, the meta description, and the title and the SEO, and I'll show you what all that's about. So let's start at the top here. And we'll add a new category, you should have at least sort of five to 10 categories in a blog.

And these are the main different elements to your blog. If you could cut down the subjects of your website into 5789 or even 15 different subjects, then what would they be? These would be your categories. So we're going to create one here, Add New Category, and we're going to uncheck the uncategorized. Nothing should be uncut. rised you can delete that uncategorized category because it doesn't help SEO at all.

Now, very important point once we've created a new category, we need to give the category a description. So the category pages have meta descriptions on them as well. And to do that, we're going to go into categories under post. And here is our suppliers category that we just created. We'll go edit and then in description there, that will come up as the meta description in the category as we have that set in Yoast SEO. So it's very important that you fill that out for every category that you have tags.

These are less important for SEO, but I always put three or four tags in as well. Now the last thing we should do is go right down to the bottom where you'll see the Yoast SEO box. Now this is a very important box. The most important thing is that you get a chance To create a meta description. Now, this is how the post is seen on the Google results pages. So you get the title in blue, usually, the URL in green, and then underneath, you get this black text.

Now, this is the meta description that I've put in there. If you don't put the meta description in here, then it will take this text from the first paragraph, the very first few words on the article. And that might not be what you want people to see. In fact, it usually isn't. This will be a kind of advert for your blog post. People will see this when they're browsing the results on the Google first page, and it might prompt them to click on the link.

So make sure it's very attractive description of the article. You could also change the title here. You could keep the heading of the blog post at the top there it says at the top but you can actually change the SEO title To be something different, and if you do, you can put it down there. However, the other thing you can use is you can just see if you getting the SEO right on your focus keyword. So this isn't so important. I wouldn't say you have to do this every time.

But I'm just going to show you, if you are wanting to rank for a certain keyword, then this is what you should do. So we want to rank let's pretend for health and beauty products in this article. And we want to make sure it's in the article heading. Yes. In the page title. Yes, that's the same thing.

The page URL? Yes, there it is. In the content, it's there three times and in the meta description. There it is. Now you don't have to do this. And if you miss one of these, it's not the end of the world.

I'm not saying that. Yeah, we're going to rank for health and beauty products. And we're going to come on the first page if you put it in Google, but it's a good way of trying to rank better for certain keywords, however, putting keywords in the titles and all the places that I've shown you is much more important added to that creating great content and great relationships with other bloggers. So you get links to your website from relevant websites is 10 times more important as well. So the last thing we should do, we've done all that is publish. And there it is, the blog post is live now, although of course, you can edit it at any time.

So let's go back to our website. And we're at the blog page now. And so we'll refresh that. And there is our blog page. And we'll click through to the blog post. And there is our blog post looking very good.
