Everyone, welcome to this lecture history of Kaizen. After World War Two, Toyota was in the midst of a quality revolution. Kaizen was implemented in its production processes, as the organization trained its people to focus on continuous improvement. Dr. W. Edwards Deming encouraged the Japanese to adopt a systematic approach to problem solving, which later became known as the Deming cycle or the plan, do check act PDCA cycle. This was a cornerstone of continuous improvement, or Kaizen. Masaaki Imai, a Japanese organizational theorist and management consultant, later became known for his work on Kaizen.
He published two fundamental books on Kaizen one Kaizen Japanese spirit of improvement published in 1985 And to gamba Kaizen a common sense, low cost approach to management published in 1997. In 1985, he founded the Kaizen Institute Consulting Group, k ICG. To help Western companies introduce the concepts, systems and tools of Kaizen. Today, Kaizen is adopted by almost every organization due to its simplicity in implementation, and focus on continuous improvement. That brings us to the end of this lecture.
