Go to the Properties panel and click on the last icon there. Here you have some options for arranging the icons. You can zoom the icons show duration, length, sort your media by name and the date, duration, type, and group your media by type. You can also view your main media in list mode, sort the list by clicking on the name or by time by clicking on duration. You can also search using this textbox. By right clicking on the media you can preview source select clips that use the media in the timeline, delete media and Add to Timeline at scrubber.

You can also do this by dragging the media to the timeline. You can add media by clicking Add Media or just moving a clip on the timeline. By clicking on Add recording you have several options on what type of recordings to add.
