In this lesson, we'll go over how to create a shopping list for our ground beef recipes. I know you already know how to make a shopping list, but watch anyway, you'll see how I use the shopping list form that is provided for you in your notes. And you will get to know the ground beef recipes that I will be making to teach our one day one month freezer meal method. It works best to print out your recipes or make a copy of them. So that's what I've done. I use accuracy and I have printed out the recipes and they do more than one per page so I need to cut them apart.

All along while I do the shopping list first of all you're going to look at the recipe and see how many it serves. So this is six. So our family of five I'll just make one batch of this. Now I need to find out what kind of container I'm going to put it in. It's a meatloaf so it's going to be baked in a pan, but I'm going to freeze it in foil. But it also has some other ingredients that I'm going to free so I'm going to need baggies and they are Are the quart size two quart baggies so I go over here to my shopping list and I need two quart baggies and I'm doing the tally like 1234 and then cross for five and foil, heavy duty foil I already have so I don't need to circle that.

Okay, now I just go down my ingredients. brown sugar, ketchup, I need half cup, ground beef, I need one and a half. And ground beef are always in pounds. So I'll just keep it one and a half. I don't need to write pounds. crackers.

That's three fourths cup middle three fourths always know that milk isn't cups. I'll put cups there. Just remind me my eggs, I need to I'm doing tallies. I'm not writing the number two. I'm tally one medium onion diced. We're Shire sauce.

Right down here. I always call it w sauce. Salt and pepper. I always have my spice I need ginger. You always have to have potatoes with meatloaf. So first of all, it's 20 servings.

I'm going to present in little individual muffins like individual service. Beans I can handle 20 individual servings of potatoes in my freezer. That'd be great to have on hand for when ever I need to pull some out. So I'll stick with 20 servings and I'm going to freeze these in baggies. So I'm going to need a gallon baggie and for 20 of them I bet on the two gallon to a gallon daddy's. I'll go down.

Five pounds potatoes, five lb four pounds to three ounce packages of cream cheese. This is an old recipe they don't sell cream cheese, and three ounces anymore. It only comes in eight ounce package. So two, three ounce packages that six ounces. We'll call it eight ounces, and that's what I'm going to get. cream cheese so eight it's always ounces.

So I won't write Oh z one cup sour cream so one cup Anjana salt and regular salt always have pepper butter I always have Okay, I'll put it down anyway. Cheese regardless chives and green onion to garnish apart our Cornish pasty it serves for and so we'll just do one batch. One person will go hungry that night and we're making little individual pies and so we will freeze them in a baggie. So I think I probably need to to fit those eight ounces ground Beef, eight ounces, eight ounces of the half pound. So I'm going to change that to half pound of ground beef. 16 ounces, one pound.

So so far we have one half a half. So we have two pounds of ground beef that we'll need carrots. third cup. What is that? Maybe just one carrot, a third cup chop potato. Okay, so for this one, I'm going to use a can of potatoes.

So I'll go over here to our canned veggies. I guess it's a veggie, so potato and just one of the 15 ounce cans, chopped onion. At one at one third cup chopped onion. It's like one third of the chop one third of an onion. Water. We have ketchup already down here for two tablespoons more w sauce.

Salt Pepper pie crust. So I need to I'm doing a tally that doesn't mean 11 pie crust means to one egg and water. Oh actually, this a leg is going to be an egg wash over the pastry, but you know that raw eggs don't work out in the freezer. So we aren't going to brush an egg wash over it. We'll just freeze it without that so I'm going to scribble out this egg because we won't use that egg. We don't want gummy stuff on the outside of our Cornish pasty.

Okay, this please serves 10 I could have the recipe, but I really like this spicy rice skillet. So I'm gonna keep At 10 and it ends up being cooked in a pot. Since it serves 10 people I'm guessing it's going to take two baggies to put all the ingredients into freeze. So calendars are five and one more two pounds of ground beef. We'll do tallies that's not 11 that's to another onion. bell pepper.

Care for tomatoes, 14 and a half ounce diced tomatoes. There we go. 14.5 chop green chilies and that's a four ounce can be frost. One cup more w sauce I haven't been writing down how much I know one bottle will be enough. I really should. Uh, well, chili powder, salt pepper hot pepper sauce, which we don't put in our, our spicy rice skillet because that hot pepper sauce makes it too spicy for me.

So I'm not putting that down rice. four cups of cooked rice is two cups uncooked. So here in our grains, we need two cups of rice 16 ounces of sour cream. We have one cup. Let's transfer that two ounces one cup is eight ounces. And now we need 16 ounces two cups of chatter and Fritos chips.

Fritos not very healthy but very tasty, spicy rice skillet, meatballs 208 servings. So we'll do one, it's a stew so we're going to put it freeze it in baggie. I don't do it with meatballs. You could make the homemade meatballs for this meatballs too, or you can buy premade meatballs for this meatballs too. But I have found that when we serve meatballs do people compete over how many meatballs they get, and they slop around in the pot trying to get the right number of meatballs and it just causes problems. So instead, I just do it with one pound of ground beef.

And it works just fine. Okay, so one pound of ground beef. Where's our beef? Bread. So, one cup of crumbs. Oh, no, no, no, no.

We're not doing the meatballs. So that goes down to here. You can do the meatballs if you ever do this recipe but I don't beef broth. So here's our Brock beef, we need one cup and now we need to change this to eight ounces. So I can add things up. 14.5 and then 14.5 condense golden mushroom soup.

You'll have it at your store. It's just a little bit harder to find and we just couldn't do the cans. We want two cans of golden mushroom soup. Just keep looking over there. Buy Campbell's for potatoes. I'm going to do my can potatoes because remember, potatoes don't freeze well unless they are already prepared.

So I can use the five pounds of potatoes here because I'm preparing them into our mashed potatoes. But these potatoes are supposed to be cubed and then put in the soup and frozen and they just won't hold up very well. So instead of using the real potatoes, the whole potatoes I'm going to use canned potatoes. And we like potatoes. So for meeting potatoes, I think that would be two cans. I'm going to change this to number of cans.

The one can because potatoes only come in one size can carrots for carrots, so we have a third cup of carrot, I'm going to say that's one Carrot, and now we have four. Oops, should be like that. And pearl onions. Yuck. I'm just going to use one onion diced like that. And the fresh parsley.

I'm going to use dried parsley. And it says one fourth cup. When you use fresh herbs, they're not as potent as the dried herbs. So I would make divide this by three and use that much of the dried parsley and lazy lasagna. All right, eight servings. That's perfect and lasagna is probably served in a pan.

So it says oh nine By 13 pan, so that means I'm going to use two pans. Because my pan is is not an eight nine by 13. Now if you wanted to, you could use a nine by 13 pan to make this. I'm going to divide this into two pans and then get two dinners out of it. So pans all right pasta, eight ounces. Now they don't sell eight ounces of pasta, it comes as 16 ounces.

So I could actually double this recipe very reasonably, but then I would end up with four pans of the same thing in my freezer, and that's a little bit too much. To dinners at the same. That's about all I can do. Olive oil. I have ground beef, one pound Half cup chopped onion that would be a half of an onion one cup graded carrot. Let's say that's two carrots.

That's just a guess. Tomato Sauce 24 ounces. Italian seasoning ricotta cheese, my cheese I don't have ricotta and it's 15 ounce. One egg. Got our egg back, mozzarella, one and a half cups and permission. Fourth cut And there's our shopping list is our ground beef recipes.

Now when I go shopping, I can buy in bulk I have 1234566 pounds of ground beef. Carrots are easy to find in bulk. So our onions 123 will say four onions so I can go shopping now and I'll buy in bulk and that's one of the reasons that we make our one day one month freezer meals to save money while joy laughs learning right
