Hello, this is Rob here and I want to show you what will happen if you get locked out of your own site. Now I am advising you to use a WordPress security plug in specifically, I'm inviting you to use the word fence free plugin for WordPress, and use all of its security features. And if you do that, one of the things that will happen is that you will block people attempting to access your site with malicious intent. And one of the sad byproducts of this of course, is that you can actually get yourself locked out if you forget your own password. And when this happens, I'm going to show you what you do. So as you can see, I'm trying to login to this site by going to the site's domain creative designs, comm slash WP admin or WP login or whatever any of those WordPress addresses and when I do that, Get this page and there is a sign here.
If you are the site administrator, and you've been accidentally locked out, please enter your email in the box below, click Send, we will then send you an email to help you regain access. So we'll do that now. And you will receive an email and you have to act on this within the next 30 minutes. And here is the email unlock email requested. And here is a link where you can unlock your ability to sign in to access to the site, this is the best link to click. But if it's not you you're doing for web, maybe you're doing it for someone else, you could unblock all IP addresses, that is the nuclear option.
And this one as well which will disable the firewall and all the security for all your users. You need to go back in and make sure the settings are all correct and they are all blocked after you have them. gain access. So, of course, this is the best link to click the top one here. And that will give you ability to sign into the site there. And there is the login.
But I want to show you two other ways you can do this, the best way would be with your FTP program. So what you do is in your FTP clients go to the plugin and rename it so it won't work anymore. So you go WP contents in public HTML or some folder that contains all your website files, and then plugins, and then in the wordfence folder, you right click or control click and rename. And then you can put dot v AK, or absolutely anything on the end of that file name, and that will deactivate the plugin. If you log into the cPanel. If you're using cPanel, you can do that via File Manager.
Go into File Manager. And in File Manager, it's the same again public HTML WP content plugins. And there's your wordfence you can right click or control click and you can rename and that will deactivate the wordfence plugin and you'll be able to log in with your username and password. Okay, I hope that helped you. That's how you regain access to your site when you are locked out by the word fence plug in. Don't let this put you off.
You must use a security plugin. It's extremely important for your WordPress security. There are downsides you might find it inconvenient that you get locked out. But once you get to grips with this technology, it will really benefit you in the long run. My name is Rob caban. I'll see you in another video.
