So there's a couple of benefits of PPC advertising also known as pay per click advertising which is a great way to start if you don't have much experience on ad platforms because as opposed to its cousin, CPM or cost per thousand advertising you're basically only paying per click okay and CPM advertising you're paying per impression which is you know, unique eyes that see your, your ad. And until you've really optimized your ad, it's better to pay per click because that means you only pay when someone clicks not just when they see it. Okay, once you have a great ad that you know, people click on, then you can kind of move to that system.
And most ad platforms like Google AdWords and Bing Yahoo advertising offer both I said You start with PPC. PPC is very specific targeting settings, okay? You can target very specifically, geographically you can target by language you can target by, you know what time people type in the search term. And then you only pay when someone clicks the ad, like I said, Okay, PPC also adds really good analytics. Okay, it's easy to measure results. With PPC advertising.
Okay, you can measure not only can you measure the actual clicks on the ad, you can also measure the conversions. What people do when they actually get to the site. Do they opt in do they purchase also gives you great feedback for testing and tweaking your campaigns. What's going to help you with local businesses the most is probably your location based PPC. This is the fastest way to start getting traffic. Okay, you can quickly test new keywords and still target searches that don't type in location.
The great thing about location based PPC Is it even if I don't talk, even if I don't type in Knoxville plumber, if I'm in Knoxville and I type in plumber, my location is still going to be targeted, I'm still going to see results for the area that I'm in. Okay, so it's very important to use this for businesses not only to show them very quickly that hey, I can, I can generate you a lot of traffic a lot of very quickly. But it's also going to be local targeted buyer traffic that's going to come in and buy from you and make you lots of money. A couple different resources you can use for search engine ads. One is AdWords, Google AdWords, you can find them at AdWords google.com. They've got a systems out there.
Google has been around for a long time and they're they're very good. As far as affiliate sites go, though, if you're trying to promote a an affiliate site, Google's become very tough, sort of banning a lot of these affiliates. Because you're going to be sending people straight to a sales page or a business website. It's not an affiliate site.
Okay, so you can be safe there. And then being in Yahoo, Microsoft purchased Yahoo ads. So now Microsoft, Bing and Yahoo are the same company. And you can find them at Microsoft ad Center at being ads.microsoft.com. Another great service. I really liked their analytics, their campaign analytics are awesome.
