Transcript

All right, welcome back. In this video, we're going to talk about starting out and kind of the first things you need to do with your local business marketing. So the very first thing you need to do is find your first client as soon as possible. Okay, a couple ways to do this. You can offer reduced rates, you can, you know, not make them pay as much as you normally would, you can offer a trial period where you'll come in and you know, maybe for 30 days, 60 days, you're running a campaign, you know, if they get results they can pay, if not, whatever, I mean, it's all up for you to decide. But look at this as an experience.

Okay, money is going to be a bonus when you're first starting out, you know, most businesses don't even break even for the first five years. Now this, this isn't going to take a huge investment from you from the beginning. So I have a feeling that you're going to break even pretty quickly. You're not gonna have to go through that five year grind. However, in the very beginning, just look at it as an experience. The more experience you get, the more qualified Do you want to be to go into others?

Businesses and start, you know, asking for more money and producing more results. You'd also offer simple services rather than packages at first, okay, so you can offer a one time services, rather than ongoing, okay, this is going to help put the business owner at ease. They know they're not getting into a monthly continuity, they know they're just gonna, you know, pay you one time, see what you can do. And that's a great way to prove yourself and then transition a long term as you get more experience, okay, so as you prove yourself and start showing the businesses what you can do for them, you know, whether or not you're, you know, including or improving the amount of money they're making, or getting them more clients or getting them more, you know, patrons. As you do that, you can then transition to longer term service, you know, with monthly packages, which they can pay for you to offer the client a contingency, okay, so maybe the client only pays for results.

Okay. So instead of them having to pay you up front, you can go in and do something for them. If the results then they can pay. Okay? Make sure you offer no risk, okay? People hate risk, there's always, you know, it's always important to have a money back guarantee on anything you do.

Okay? And like I said, treat this as a learning experience. And make sure you get testimonials. Okay? Make sure that if you do great work for someone that they give you a testimonial, okay, this is going to, this is going to go into your marketing. So when you start moving into other businesses, and going and talking to other business owners, you've got great testimonials for what you've accomplished.

And then also, you know, where to find clients when you're first starting out, okay? Well, one place is your friends, family and acquaintances, okay, these are the first people that you probably talk to you on a daily basis. They may know a business owner, they may be they may be business owners that may need some help. Okay, so always take the low hanging fruit first. And you know it this is one of those things where, you know, you don't want to be annoying and annoy the people. closest to you.

If they end up saying no you know not right now then just go ahead and go out and you know, look for other people, and then come back once you've proven yourself and say, Hey, this is what I've done. Now would you like to take a look at it? Okay, the last thing you want to do is that do is be that family member that's always got some scheme or always has some thing, okay? So, you know, it's great that they let you run some campaigns for them. If they don't, they go find somebody else that will go find a business owner that you have no, no ties with, produce some results for them, get your testimonial, make some money and come back and then you can always help your friends and family and acquaintances, but that is the best place to start. Okay, those friends and family like I say they may be able to give you referrals.

They may not have a business, but they may know someone that does Okay. And then also your local business groups in your area. Okay, like you're changing your chamber of commerce. Toastmasters is a great place to go to, you know, learn to do public speaking Public Speaking goes a long way in sales, meetup calm and then specific industry groups, okay, so all these are places where you can get potential clients to, you know, start running social media or SEO or advertising campaigns for
