So well done on completing this very long section on the parish registers. I really hope that you've been able to find what you need in the parish registers. But if you do have problems, remember that it's often a good idea to leave one family line for a while and go and search on another one. Sometimes when you come back with a fresh eye, you can spot something that you didn't notice before. Now, as you continue to search the registers you will learn more as you go along. Remember to keep going backwards and forwards between the registers and the census certificates at least up back as far as the census goes.
Keep checking the records against each other. And now much of what we have talked about so far has covered mainly England and Wales However, as you carry out your searches, some of you will have found that you have ancestors that originated in Scotland, Ireland, even the Isle of Man like my ancestors, or maybe places like the channel Isles. Now to continue your searches on these lines, it will probably mean that you will need to use different websites and also you will find that some of the sources of census records and the parish registers are actually slightly different. I have not covered that so far in this course we've mainly be concentrating on England and Wales, but I will touch a little bit upon that in the final section. Also, as you continue your searches, particularly when you get beyond the senses where you don't have that extra sauce to sort of match your findings up against things can get quite tricky.
And you will probably need extra sources and documents to look at such as wells, land documents, apprenticeship records, etc. I will touch on these briefly in the final section to give you an idea of where you want to go next. So I hope you have enjoyed this section on the parish registers and the family tree is beginning to grow. We're close to the end of the course now, but there'll be lots more for you to do and learn. head on to the final section where I'll give you some ideas about what your next steps might be. See you there.
