Welcome to Chapter Six, where we start to go into content. It is what you say, as well as the way that you say it. Of course it is. And as Chris Anderson from Ted said, content really has to take the edge. If you have to choose between those two things. Now, of course, I'm going to give you both of the two things, you're going to be able to design great content and deliver it superbly.
So content first content is king content is absolutely crucial, brilliant speaker delivering nonsense is not worth the time that you would give them. How do you make sure that you're designing exactly the right thing to say? Of course asking what's the listening is going to be a big part of it. Nevertheless, there are tools and techniques in this section of the course, which you will find useful for the rest of your life. We'll start with the four powerful foundations of listening which will be fun familiar with if you've seen my TED talk about listening, honesty, Authenticity, integrity, love, the hail of listening will move into different ways of speaking speaking from where are you speaking from, and that unlocks a whole can of excellent things that you can apply in your life, such as understanding your particular style, asking questions about who you are and who you want to be for people.
When you're speaking, thinking about how you present yourself. And you'll come up with something called a powerful personal introduction, which will be useful to you forever, intentions, the big idea, the the so what you have to apply in order to understand how to make your content relevant to the people you're talking to. I have a beautiful graphic of a bullseye with the three levels you need to go through in order to understand how to make your content particularly relevant. I'd like to talk about brainstorming and how I create content and how it is that you can mirror that. And what kind of effective brainstorming you can come up with that works for you. The concept of chunking taken from NLP work, which I think is a very useful one, it gives you a vertical dimension in your speaking as well as a horizontal one, a timeline in your talks, Clean Language we're going to talk about I love Clean Language.
And it's a very powerful concept to apply when you're speaking to people and you don't want to put their backs up by putting in incorrect or inappropriate assumptions or angles in what you're saying. requests in relationship very, very powerful thing. And in business, of course, a very powerful thing as long as you're okay with all three outcomes. We'll come back to that stories storytelling and how to do it. And we'll be looking at your PPI and how to involve storytelling, if possible in that how to make your powerful personal interesting Action really, really powerful perhaps with a story or two. So content.
It's a very rich and quite deep section of the course. I hope you enjoy it.
