Okay, so we've created our first web page. But we're not going to stop there, we're going to create three more web pages. So let's go into pages. And remember that sample page. Now I think that's time we got rid of that, because it's nice to keep your WordPress back end tidy. So you could just go ahead and click on trash there.
Or you could check this page, go up to bulk actions and move to trash. Either is fine. So now we have just the one page, which is the About Us. I say we have one page, but obviously the website has more than one page. Because if we go to it here, you can see it's got the home page, which is the latest blog posts, and we've got this blog post page. We've actually got archive pages for April 2006.
So we do have pages and that is the blog. WordPress is set up for you. But now we're setting up real static pages for our new websites. And like any new website, we're going to have a contact page. And this website is going to have a separate home page and a separate blog page. And about us page, a courses page and a Contact Us page.
So let's get going and create those pages. So add new home. We won't put any text here. And don't worry about that permalink slash home. I'll come to that later. let's publish back to the pages.
Add new courses, publish back to all pages. Add new blog publish one more, back to all pages. Add new contact me Publish. Okay, so now let's have a look at our pages bit confusing. Now we've got home and blog, we go to the home. And of course, that is the blog there.
But what we're going to do is we're going to put the blog on a separate page and have a homepage, saying something else as an introduction to the website. And remember how we set that up, we go settings, reading the front page, we want to display a static page. And that one is going to be the homepage, the Posts Page. In other words, the page that displays your latest 10 posts, in other words, your blog, we're gonna select blog, and we'll save changes. So now when we go back to the domain, go back to the websites the.com with nothing after it and hit refresh. We get the homepage and we're going to enter some content in here.
And we're going to have a separate blog page. So if I type in here, blog that shows you what was previously on the homepage, and will be your 10 most recent blog posts. Okay, well, we've created four pages, but we can't get to them in any way. We need a menu. And we'll be doing that in the next lesson. My name is Rob cabin.
I'll see you there.
