So how did you do? What did you think? Now if you weren't completely impressed with how you came across, you're in good company, I could tell you, everybody hates looking at themselves on video, listening to their own voice, especially if they're using a teleprompter for the first time. So if you didn't love everything about how you came across, you're in excellent company. Now, I want you to look at that list of things you like, the list of things you don't like. And I want you to do it.

Again, we're only talking about 60 seconds, not a three hour speech, not even a 20 minute speech. But I want you to record yourself using a teleprompter. And I want you to try to do more of the stuff you liked. And focus on just one thing you didn't like. Let's try to remove that. I want to see if you can self correct because I'm happy to give you advice right here and any way I can.

But the biggest source of insight into how you speak Ultimately will come from you. If you're willing to take the time to practice your speeches using a teleprompter on video. Most people aren't willing to do that most people are lazy. In fact, that's often what drives people to use a teleprompter. They think, well, I don't want to learn my speech or get familiar with it or get comfortable with it. I know.

I'll just throw it up on the teleprompter, I won't remember anything. And I can just read. Now. That's the worst attitude you could possibly have. If you really want to be a great communicator, what we'll find is that it's going to take you more time to use the teleprompter than to just speak from notes. Now I'm not trying to talk you out of using a teleprompter.

But if your goal for doing it is time savings, you are barking up the wrong tree. If you really want to be effective, you need to practice and rehearse on video for any important speech. So what I want you to do now do the very same thing. Speech again, recorded again, grade yourself again. And let's see if you can make any small improvements or big improvements to it right now.
