The first thing you need to do when you are planning a technology presentation is really step back for a minute and ask yourself just one thing. What is the goal of my technology presentation? What is it I actually want this audience to do? Do you want them to buy your new iPhone? Do you want them to approve an IT budget, I need you to write down in one sentence. what it is you want your audience to do?

They start with lots and lots and lots of data. That is not an effective way to start a technology presentation. So don't do anything else. Don't write your speech.
Don't come up with PowerPoint slides yet. Just give me this one sentence on what your actual goal is. From this presentation
