Now let's time to put it all together, I want you to get a full speech. Now for you that might be a five minute speech, it might be a 20 minute speech, it might be an hour speech, but whatever the speech is that you're most likely to give are close to what you're likely to give. In the near future. Let's get the whole speech ready load in the teleprompter. And let's get ready to give that speech now. This is where it gets personal.
You can decide how you want to mark up your speech. Remember, the speech is for your eyes only. Even if you're using one of the executive teleprompters like the President does, where you have both sides. You can look at it. Maybe someone behind you could see it. Don't worry about them.
You're worried about the larger audience and perhaps the TV audience, so don't worry about what it is mark it up. If you want to put in parentheses long pause, do sup if you want to put in parentheses louder do that if you want to put in parentheses, whisper do that. Just don't read it out loud. So famous politicians have been caught doing that before message. I care. One famous politician to that he wasn't supposed to say that it was in the notes in the teleprompter.
So give yourself some notes. Now load up the speech. Let's practice the whole speech. Now if your speech is 20 minutes, and I'm saying practice it and rehearse it, there's 40 minutes right there. You've got to deliver the speech. It's record, you got to watch it as another 20 minutes.
So added up, there's 40 minutes. say well teach I don't have time, maybe not have time to give the speech. If you want to save time, it may be easier just to use notes, rather than reading. Again, I will reiterate, using a teleprompter is not about saving time, unless you're the president of the United States and you're giving 10 speeches a day or you are a professional newscaster Faster, and you have to anchor a show for three hours a day and you're reading it every day, then it does save time. But for the rest of us speaking about what we do in our business or politics or careers, you should know this stuff, not memorize it, but you should know it. The teleprompter, if you're going to use it, is to help things go even smoother, but it requires more practice.
So let's practice your whole speech now. video recorded watch it figure out what you like, and what you don't like.
