Okay, look at what I've done here is I've made labels for each end of each one of these cables label with the mixed numbers. Like you can see here, I've also made separate labels for the link cables. And for MC six, which is the drum fill, which consists of a sub and a wedge. I've differentiated between the wedge here with our little triangle symbol and the sub. The reason I've done this is the if we plug these cables in the wrong way round, neither of those speakers will work. It's very important.
They're the right way around. So mix one is the mix that is furthest down stage, right, so what's the longest cable we've got here? 20 meter. Okay, so let's use a 20 meters. For mix one. Let's just put a label on that guy right there.
Making sure that the connector is the right way up. So as when it launches into the panel, we can see it without having to pull it out and rotate it. Okay, so you stick the stick on this one, there's the latch right there. Okay, so that's gonna be mix one, that's going to be the 20 meter cable. Then what have we got a 15 for mix two, and then 210s for mix three and four, and another pair of 10s for the drums and they have the drum sub and the drum wedge, okay, and I think we're probably going to need one more long one for that downstage right one that's over there, that's mixed five, I think. Okay, let's label the rest of them and then we'll be ready to start with the signal.
Okay, now Luca, we this is going to be mixed to, this is the pair for the singer. Now the first thing we need to do is make sure that the cable which is labeled here as you can see is the right way around Because it's an amplifier, and it produces high voltage, you can't have pins because of the possibility of electric shock and shorting out. So it's always holes always sockets, so there'll be a female socket on the amplifier. Therefore you need the male end at the amplifier the female end at the speaker. This is a path to the singer he gets two wedges today. And first of all, we're going to plug in the mix cable, which is the cable that's connected to the amplifier.
These were these are a little awkward to plug cables in. It's actually nice to do it with two people. So if you just lift the wedge for me, please Luca. There we go those mixed two into the male socket. And if you just hold it there, I've got a link cable here it's clearly labeled as the link, plug it into the other socket. And I keep it nice and neat here on the stage.
And if you just lift the wedge for me again there we go not to plug the link together. We can now clearly see the mix cable and the link cable labeled SOS if we need to move them we don't unplug the wrong one. Okay, Luca now we've got the downstage wedges all plugged in and labeled nicely. Let's make it nice and neat and tidy. Let's make ourselves a little loom. Okay, how do we do that best way of doing this, we're going to take all of the mix cables together, not the link cable because that's a separate deal.
But the four mix cables, the four cables that feed from the amplifiers, we're going to take them all together. First thing to do, we're going to pull a little bit of slack through each one of these cables just a couple of meters. So we can move the wedges to accommodate the support band if we need to. Okay, that's the first one. And if we do the same thing with the second one here, not with the link cable though, just with the mix cable, so as the link cables a separate deal, okay, now I'm just going to type the two cables together. Right here.
Just Like that, okay and if you want to pull some slack through for mix three though for me I just pull the link table out of the way and we do the same deal here if you just hold the cable for me I'll type it. There you go. nice and neat. And the same deal for mixed for here. Okay. Can hold all four of them together.
Okay, now we've got a nice neat downstage loom here, everything is clearly labeled, so there's no possibility of us making a mistake or plugging the wrong speaker in. As you can see, we can move each one of the speakers individually a meter or so without having to disturb our loom here but even if we need to move the whole thing, it's really quite easy just to pull a few more meters of slack from the loom. They slacks all coiled on the floor down here, so we can move the wedges any way we need to on stage to accommodate the support bands. It's a nice simple, neat and easy way of ensuring a nice clean and tidy stage.
