Hello, and welcome to this module. All the topics in this module are about the mental and physical effects that smoking has on us, and what you can do to help overcome these. Now I do want to make it clear, I'm not here to give you a load of facts and figures about the health, how bad it is for your health. Because what would be the point? You already know the health risks of smoking, you've probably been told by people multiple times, oh, you should stop smoking, which will of course if you're anything like me, when I was a smoker, I want to dig my heels right in for someone making that comment to me and I just want to blow smoke right in their face. So don't worry, I totally get it.
I used to argue until I could argue no more about people tell me what I should and shouldn't do when it came to smoking. And by me telling you what you already know does not help anyone. Always both of our time. So if you feel you need any of the information at all I'd ask you to please refer to your cigarette pack because it's probably written all over it. Also, it's just another quick reminder about the one rule or instruction i should follow throughout this course. And that is please do continue to smoke as you would on a day to day basis.
Reason being is I don't always have to use willpower to stop, we're going to work through the steps of the simple formula together. So at the end, you actually won't want to stop. And that's what the aim of this course is to do. Because you've already made that choice to stop and you want to stop. And this is how I'm going to show you how without having to use willpower. So please do continue to smoke as normal throughout.
If you're already feeling a little bit like you want to stop then that's fabulous, but I would ask you to keep continuing to smoke as you normally do. And on that note, let's move on to the first topic. I'll see you in the next video. Bye for now.
