I know I was talking about this a lot already. But you have to know one more thing to use Inkscape. And I cannot say it enough. And this is using Inkscape. for achieving modularity, modularity is that you create one asset, and you modify it a bit and you reuse it. It's not coming out of laziness, it's coming out of creativity, and being resourceful.
So you can be some assets and then recombine them in any way you want. And this is what I do when I create. So if you remember how I created the figure, the little character for a platform game is the same I created it, modified it, modified it, modify it until I had the final form. Then I used it for the animation. Now I want to show something different. if let's say I'm creating a monster truck game, and I draw my monster truck, I just started with some cubes.
So let's just start for a few minutes. Let's create A simple monster truck replicate this now to make the window. really doing this very simple now I just want to show upon then I'm having my wheel out Is what they have now. And I can give you the bumper on the back. And obviously, I can color it much, much nicer. Just for now.
Let's have a nice off monster truck. And I'm creating some wheels. Just really for the fun of it. Duplicate, holding Shift and control to resize the wheel. That's one type of view. And you can group it just to make it a real monster truck.
Let's put in some suspensions So I have this car body now, and I want another car. And I have make it to pick up. So what I do is, I'm not very good in cars. So if it's not to pick up I'm sorry guys. It's not I mean that the back is closed. So let's make it another color.
I want that dark purple if I can get it. So in just a few seconds, I'm just creating a monster truck. I can make some flames on it or anything I want. It's really up to me and I throw some flames with the pencil tool. Just for light of play. So that easy, more of them together.
Ctrl l I plead the applicate this, select them and then do path in section so I cut it off okay, so I have another truck to pick up this time and I modify my other truck again and I make somebody's company or set up I hope that are such a monster trucks. I don't think so but let's do that. And then let's make the seat visible just to make it more different. I could even make the pilot visible this time but it doesn't. And because it's summary it can be orange this time. Dark so I have three different cars and I have one type of view tire precisely I can make the different bit smaller, I can duplicate this tire again, the whole thing and make somebody took bumps by getting two guidelines from the ruler, so no where is the middle?
See, I was putting the guidelines in the middle just according to the arrows of the transformation arrows of the circle. Now I made one balm and I just put the center of rotation in the middle, I duplicate it and I turn it a duplicate it and I turn it duplicate and I turn it and then I duplicate three and again and again. just needed to so I didn't this Make this slightly bigger looks like a tractor wheel. So what I have now what I have now is one through three different type of tires and three different type of cars, car bodies. Guess the so what I do is that I could have this car this car with this wheel and I could tell this one with this and I could have this one with this and I would have three car and they would be very happy but as you see I already modified this and it was very easy.
I created this Three mutations by modifying and being thinking escape into, make it make my assets reusable. So I was creating these tires and these three different cars just using this but what I can do is I could reuse these tires again. So I can make this car different with different tires. And with a simple click, I could make it red. This one I could make once more with different tires and just duplicate and put it in place and I could recover it totally different and better Something gone into write something on it wants to talk whatever. You get my point.
So delight. So I could have connect again a different monster truck, and then again and then again. So from the premade things like really like Lego. I have three cars and three type of tires, very simple ones, but by combining them I can create totally new Cars for my game. So I don't have to redraw everything from the beginning, I can just do whatever I feel like I can do modifications so easily. And now I have six totally different cars.
Obviously, the parts are almost the same. But the point of it is that they are very similar, but still different. I hope you understand what what does this mean? In terms of development, it means that you can give more content to your player very, very easily. You can build your assets, you can create mutations. So let's make this like a military type thing.
I just select this splashes with control plus I merge them together. I take this group I moved in together with console plus again. Then I select and I go intersection again, here I am, it's painted its military. So I have six cars in minutes created from this, three different cars, and three different tires. And if you know, more and more can be done, so it can be nine it can be more if I if I color, I can use these books with different type of wheels and different colors. And that's it and it's just so simple.
I just are constantly shuffling few different elements to create a very, very different process for my game. So this lesson was about being modular with Inkscape. Create and reuse your assets constantly saving what you have. I will give you the source of this cute monster monster tracks. If you want to create a game like this, I would be very happy with that. And so you can you can create your own modules up front you can create robots, little particles and rockets and guns it's very easy to build like this.
So you make every particle possible up front every part and then you combine them in a manner and this will also help you to be creative because you have new ideas coming up new things coming up, because this is your game and your creativity so you can do anything with it. Now we will move on to some other parts of Inkscape. I hope you enjoyed it so far.
