Breaking patterns. So let's talk about pain and pleasure. Everything we do in life is either because we're avoiding pain or moving toward pleasure, if you're continuing a pattern or behavior that you don't like, it's because you feel like there will be more pain to stopping it, then continuing it, if there's something you're not doing that you want to do, it's because you feel like there will be more pain to doing it than not doing it. So I have something in the extra resources section and activity that will help you stop the patterns and change unpleasant behaviors. You reverse it, you associate pain to continuing the old pattern and you associate pleasure to the behaviors you prefer. And I'm going to list them now.
So once you get your printout that I sent, you're going to list four patterns or behaviors that you need to change to happen. And enlightened relationship and better behaviors. And then I've put an example where you've got pattern, you'll write down what it is, and then the desired outcome, which you'd rather have it be then for each change you want to make answer the following question. What is the pain you think you're going to feel if you continue the old pattern or behavior? What is the pleasure you've gotten from the pattern or behavior? What is the pain you will feel if you don't stop the pattern or behavior?
And finally, what is the pleasure you will experience if you do stop the pattern or behavior? So these are some things to really think about.
