Hello, welcome to session two of the course. So in this section we're gonna be talking about creating a vision. The current on the commonly traveled path is quite strong. And it's easy to get caught in the tide without even noticing. You wake up 20 years from now and wonder where's my life gone, I was only going to move down this path until I got that promotion, or until I finally found the love of my life, or until I finished school, and then I was going to take charge of my life and then I was going to do what I've always wanted to do, and then I'd be happy. And the next thing you know, you wake up after those 20 years, having followed the herd, having done everything that you were supposed to do, and never having stopped to do things in a way that would truly fulfill you.
It just like goes by really quick We all know this and live this. There's so many things to do on our to do list. We're all moving at such a quick pace that it's like as though there's never an opportunity to stop and see where you're at and see where you're wanting to go and making sure that you're actually walking down that path. And so that's what we're doing today, we're getting out of the fast lane, pulling the handbrake and holding. And until we get a clear idea of where we are and where we want to go. We're not going to move forward.
This is what creating a vision is all about. So, how to create a vision. Basically, you take the time to just ask yourself, after you've taken the time already in session, one to connect within yourself. Now you start asking yourself a bit more seriously, what does my life look like and what does it feel like? How does it make me feel to live the way that I do so what aspects of my life do I love? What aspects do I dread or like less?
Are there some aspects of your life that are completely off course from what you would have ever imagined having in your life? Is that good? Is that bad? You get to decide. It's just about like, assessing, just looking around and seeing what's what, and seeing how all these different aspects make you feel? What are your existing relationships like or your job?
Like? Is it fulfilling? Do these relationships fulfill you? Ask yourself, see what see what you find. And then once you've had a look at your existing circumstance, it's from here that you're going to have a look and imagine what your ideal circumstance looks like. So what are your goals, your dreams, your ambitions, and what might an ideal day look like for you?
So these questions here in the in this part of the chat, aren't I'm not trying to move Be specific yet everything that you need all the questions and the tools are in your PDF and workbook. Documents, here's just kind of give you an idea of what we're looking to do in this section. So here I'll break down the tools a little bit for you that you'll find in the PDF and the content section and the workbook section of, of this part of the course. So a nice tool to always start out the investigation and seeing how you're feeling and what you're wanting is a vision board. It's nice, it's fun, it's simple. And then if you hang it up on the wall, you can see it every day to remind yourself what you're going for.
So you can do that using grant crafts supplies and like doing it physically or you can do it online. There's a tool that's often used in coaching called the wheel of life, which you'll find in the documents. Perfect average Monday is an activity that I really like and I use and revisit very regularly. It's all very nice to imagine your dream life if you won the lottery, or if you were in this like, perfect, amazing circumstance. But here we're trying to see what an ideal context looks like on a regular Monday, what is your ideal Monday look like to you? And so from here we can kind of like ideally, get rid of this idea that Mondays have to suck because on Mondays you have to go to work and work socks and and instead shift that idea so that you can get an idea of what an ideal Monday looks like to you.
You'll also find an activity of 20 questions. So here we'll get more specific about the types of questions I'm asking and the type of information it can help you find within yourself. And ideally, it is so important to define your core values. So it's quite common for us to go through life and to do things are in congruent with our core values, what is most important to us in life. So if we can take a minute, define what those core values are so that we know them and make decisions that are in line with them, we just give ourselves the best chance of creating a life that fulfills us. And then finally, the last thing that you'll be doing at the end of the workbook for this section will be defining your desired outcomes.
So this is where you really take all the information you've learned from having done all the activities in this session section, and create some specific outcomes you would like to achieve. So potentially in different areas of your life, maybe a lot of different outcomes in one area of your life. This is all up to you, you decide, but you're really trying to see what it is you'd like to achieve as you pivot into this new direction of life. So important information to keep into consideration. As you move through this section, so don't forget to consider each and every aspect of your life. It's easy to sometimes focus on like, the default bad stuff, oh, work sucks, or, or this is bad or whatever it is.
But ideally, we're having a look at all the different aspects of our life, and seeing how we feel about each one of them. Because sometimes if we don't stop and ask ourselves, how do we feel about our current state of health? Or how do we feel about our learning and growth as a person? Maybe if you don't ever take the time to ask yourself that and to wonder that you might not see that you're not satisfied with how your health is or how you're learning. And so I highly recommend that you consider each aspect and write things down. Use the workbook write down your goals, it's so important to have those tangibly written down As Mark Victor Hansen says, by recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be.
Put your future in good hands on your own. To do it, write it down, keep it close, reread it frequently, know where you're going. And next, and finally, and most importantly, dream big. It's only through striving for big dreams, big goals, will you achieve great things in your life. So again, another quote, this time by Steve Garvey, you have to set goals that are almost out of reach. If you'd set goal if you set a goal that is attainable without much work or thought, you're stuck with something below your true talent and potential to dream big, don't be scared to set really big outcomes that you'd like to achieve for yourself as you move through this course.
So good luck with the vision creation and also See you in the next section.
