Hi everyone, Alexis parents here. So, welcome to the first video in the newbies guide to creating viral Facebook videos. But before we start, I wanted to share with you an example of a viral video that I created for my brother. So if you don't know my family, the parents family, we're super active on social media, and we're adamant about spreading positivity and offering value. But this specific video was to promote this company called as I am, they have a natural hair product line and so, okay, the video sent it to them and they posted it, and it went viral. It was a video I created.
So this is the page that my family has Paris life. And on our personal page you got 40,000 views on as I am page a got 4.5 million views. So the things I'm going to teach you in this class will give you the potential to go viral, but first specifically in this video. I'm just going to teach you how to get set up in Final Cut Pro. So there are a couple of a couple of housekeeping things that you need to do in order to secure media and have a clean editing space and successfully save your video. So we're going to get into that right now.
So the first thing that you want to do when before starting a video project is you want to create an event and an event, you have your media and that's where you're holding your project as well. So to do that, we are going to go to file so on your computer, wherever file is at the top, it's usually on the top left. I'm going to click file in this drop down appears in you're going to go to new and then you're gonna do new event. First, okay new event, and you usually want to name it the title of your video. So for this, I'm just going to do video training. It pops here on the left with all my other events.
So this is our new event, video training and it automatically gives us a project We also want to name the project just to keep everything organized and clean. So I'm going to name it the exact same thing. So now we have our video, our we have our event, and now we have our project. Next, we're going to insert our media. And wherever your home space is on your computer, you're going to go to there, find your file and upload it there. So for me, it's finder, my Mac user.
So it's called finder, wherever your home space is go there and select your video file. So mine is here. And you can simply just drag it to this event space. All right, so once you drag and drop, it's right in here with your project. Remember, it is in your event section. And then lastly, the last thing that we need to do is to drag our media to this space, which is where we're going to have all the editing of the titles and the music, all that lovely stuff.
But we have to draw, we have to drag our meat Down below first, so to do that, you simply just click on your media, hold it down and wait for this like overlay video image to pop up and simply drag it to the video space below and drop it and voila is there. Now sometimes this will pop up and you can choose the video format of the video. I'm just going to keep it the same. And it gives me to Adam to automatic bars, which is fine. I can show you some cool things that you can do with that. So that concludes the first video on how to get set up in Final Cut Pro before you start your video editing process but I'll see you in the next video.
I want to learn some more stuff so bye
