Let's discuss about the setting up jobs on a Windows machine. I'm going to open the windows virtual machine. And this is just an explorer. So what I can do is on this PC, I can right click and click on Properties. So this is the system settings right, you can go from control panel as well. I'm going to click on advanced system settings.
And then I'm going to click on environment variables. Then I'm going to click on this location and I'm going to hit p on my keyboard. So this will bring the path so the variable name is path, and this is the value. Then I'm going to click on Edit and in this place, after everything, so a lot of things are there in the variables, a lot of things are there. At the end, you need to add the path of service So this is the path of Java, you need to put a semicolon up there. And then add the path of Java, this is very important you need to add to bin.
And first you need to figure out where your Java is. So mostly it's in C program files, Java JDK version slash main. So this is what you need to do. I am going to upload a document as well with the lecture that you can follow to go through it. So I'm going to show you let's go to C program files, Java and JDK one dot A dot zero, and then when. So you need to get this whole location that you can see here and put it in the environment variable.
So let me close this. And I can maybe close this as well and then show you that document. So Java installation, something like that. Yes, this is the document that I have highlighted again, solution and configuration. So this is a document that I created this is to download the Java. So it will tell you which version to download.
Or you might have to download the latest one and everything. Then you go to computer properties, advanced system properties. So this screenshot is from Windows seven, I was showing it to you on Windows eight, you might have Windows 10. So doesn't matter, you only have to go to advanced system settings. And then you need to click on environment variables, this one and then you need to figure out where your Java is installed and put the path so this one shows you Java version one dot seven. I right now, demo ID one dot eight for you, you might have a different version of shower.
So I'm putting different things together. So guys know that there's no specific version that we need, which should be good. If we are above one dot six, or one dot seven, if you have Java eight, you're perfect. You might be watching this lecture in this hour night, so don't worry about it, just get the latest one and put it there, then you need to put it on the variable value after semicolon in the PATH variable, and you're good to go. So this is all you need to do in order to set up your Java. And once your Java is set up, actually, you can run the command line Java version, and it will display you the Java version that you have.
And this command Java dash version is exactly same for Mac and Windows. So there's no difference. You can open terminal on Mac and you can open terminal on Windows and execute this command and you should be able to see the version of Java on your system. So that's about it. Please go ahead. installs our set it up and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for ending this one.
