Hello guys, welcome back to the next tutorial. In this one, we are going to see how we can install Eclipse on our Windows machine. So Eclipse is our ID, which is the integrated development environment on which regular is going to code everything on our Java tutorials. So let's just see, let's so this is right now my Mac machine, I'm just gonna bring up the windows virtual machine that I have. So I can demonstrate the windows download and install. So this is the Windows machine.
So I'm just going to bring up my browser. And I'm going to see google.com. And the next thing I want to say is download Eclipse, right? So that's pretty much it. So it's just gonna bring up the links in the search. So what you want to verify is the hyperlink that says HTTPS eclipse.org slash downloads.
This is the official Eclipse site. So Jessica, you guys can just click on this. So you go to the home and The downloads page right now. So the website is smart enough to identify what your platform is right now since I'm on Windows, it gives me the windows options, right? So the first one you see is Eclipse ID for Java Enterprise developers. It has all the features like Java, ee, and web applications and ID and Java tools for Java Enterprise.
JPA, JSF, Myron, all those things. The file sizes 275 Mb. So I would say we guys, we don't really need it right now. So if you want a slightly lighter version, what you can do is you can just download this one Eclipse IDE for Java developers. It has all the essential features that we need, which says Java ID a good client, XML editor and Maven integration, we pretty much need all those things. So just remember guys that these names might change in future but all you need to see is that it has the features that we want and the features are Java ad and XML editor and Maven integration.
So you SS can go ahead and down Download the version whichever your system is. So I'm just going to show you how you can verify the version, you guys just need to go to the any file explorer on Windows, right click on this PC, go to properties. And here you can verify the system type. It's a 64 bit operating system for my machine. So I can just go ahead and download the 64 bit version. So I'm just gonna go to this link.
And I'm just gonna go ahead and click on it identifies which is the closest server. So I'm just gonna go ahead and click on this download button, I'm not going to go ahead and click on the faster members, I don't really know where it's gonna take me so just go ahead and click on the download version. It's gonna go ahead take it to the next page, and it's gonna actually give you an option to save the file. So if you notice this zip file, guys, I'm just gonna go ahead and click on save file. So you guys can go ahead and click on OK button. I'm gonna go ahead and click on Cancel right now because I already have it downloaded.
So just close this one. So this is the zip file that gets downloaded. So what you need to do is you just need to right click this Go to extract all you don't need any blad or seven zip software's for this, just go ahead and say extract all. And if you want to change the location, so I can just change the location instead of this big name, I can just say Eclipse. So it's going to create an eclipse folder on my desktop and save everything. So I can just go ahead and say extract.
So I can just say Eclipse one right now, because I already have Eclipse. And I'm just going to go ahead and say extract and you see it's created the folder Eclipse one. And I'm going to click close right now. So I don't care about this one. I already have this eclipse folder, which was extracted from this. So there's no installation like going to a wizard or something for Eclipse, you just need to extract the file and it's all done.
So once you open this folder, you against the eclipse folder, and this is the application so you just need to double check this application. And first time it asks you to run and Eclipse Mars. This is the current version right now. It might be different When you download it, so just go ahead and download the latest one, don't worry about anything. And the best part is, since we downloaded the eclipse with the Maven version, you already have the Maven plugin installed. So you can go ahead and skip the installation of Maven plugin tutorial as well.
It is already gonna have the Maven plugin. So right now I'm just opening Eclipse for you guys to show you. And that's pretty much it. Once you have Eclipse, you have the Maven, you really don't need to add a Maven plugin explicitly. So it's just going to bring up Eclipse for right now it is up there. So that is our Eclipse.
And I can just go ahead and click on help. And after that, it's just being a little slow for me right now. After that I can go ahead and say install new software, and I can see what's already installed. So it's gonna show me all the things so I can expand this and expand this and it says hey, Maven integration for Eclipse right? So it has it already has into it so don't worry about installing Maven plug in also guys, so you pretty much have everything so that's pretty much it guys. Just go ahead and install Eclipse and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for tuning in, guys. Stay tuned for the next one. Thanks, guys.
