In the last video, I've asked you to identify three positive or neutral habits and their pa are sequences par. I've made my homework too. I know I write like a two year old. The three habits are when I have a difficult task, I immediately do the smallest step to feel I've taken a step toward my goal. Be a part. I've implemented this habit since 2007.
And it's one of the best choices I've made in my life. When I see the warning on the fridge be I abide by eat a for a healthier body, our be a car. When I smell of flowers be I take a five seconds break. I do enjoy the smell are when the alarm sounds I immediately look out the window to wake up faster. Now let's try the habit linking again. Let's say you want to write a book.
Well, I know it's a big goal. To pursue write, consider it an example because once you realize how feasible this goal is, you'd have no trouble programming the smaller habits 1000 words a day. Two hours of work means somewhere around the 365,000 words a year, considering a novel is usually 50 to 50,000 words long doing 1000 words a day, would enable you to write seven novels each year. 50,000 word novels include the note book, The Great Gatsby Fight Club, and your next novel. So the question is this. Can you write a novel by the end of the year?
Not seven novels? Just one? And the answer is a definitely Yeah, if you want to, first define your activity, just the number of words you'd be comfortable writing daily, and a total number you need to achieve. Don't worry about editing, phrasing, your words or grammar. In this habit will be writing the first draft, the one that nobody shows to the public. Second, establish the reward.
What happens each day after you write those words? Do you have any words that you already enjoy? Maybe with a cookie, check Facebook or read the book. And fourth, link the P with the P. You look at your established habits, and choose one that you can link to the writing session. If you don't have such a habit, think of one. Remember that half of what you do is habitual as research shows.
So identifying a habit should be a quick process. Morning habits would work best if you can dedicate the time to finish the number of words you've chosen. And if you're a morning person, let's take mine for example. When the alarm sounds, I immediately look out the window to wake up faster. I could stick a note to my Windows 10 500 words, p note on the window a write 500 words are my favorite brand of coffee. When I read the note on the window, I immediately write 500 words to get my favorite brand of coffee.
And if I don't, I will drink the one my girlfriend likes. You know that Booker i think is just one of the habits that you get that you can implement. If you're not interested in implementing this habit, choose another one that you can link to the ones in your homework. In the next lesson, you will get a practical down to earth techniques to exercise daily, and you'll use what you've learned until now to engrave the habit into your very soul.
