Meet Alba Alonso, Creator of Fitness Latinos

A marketer by degree but an educator by life experience, Alba's education journey began when she homeschooled her firstborn over twenty years ago. Being the only Spanish speaker in the local homeschool cooperative, she taught her first Spanish class with twenty beginner students. Her students' ages ranged from eight years old to parents in their forties. She has also taught one-on-one to Chinese students as young as three and missionaries preparing to go abroad for the first time.

Alba has always incorporated movement and laughter to help students learn in a low-pressure atmosphere. After all, the first classrooms did not have walls and were engaging because they involved being with our family, peers, and community. Why not bring that back and share this with the world? With the right attitude, anything is possible.

Her experience as an English-language learner (ELL) student at the age of 10, her experience as a Spanish teacher, and her patience and motivation led her to teach online full-time with VIPKID. The same strategies incorporated in her online courses in Fitness Latinos have also proven helpful for her Chinese students.
