Now let's see how to improve our personality type. They say we can change our behavior, not our preference. The truth is that it doesn't matter. If we wish to behave differently in certain circumstances, we can do it. Does it matter if we can also change preferences? No.
My personality type is I SDG. And if you remember what I've taught you in the previous videos, I'm an introvert who counts on senses and thinks a bit too much, who judges and makes quick impressions and thinks he's always right. Is that Big. So basically I have issues with feelings, intuition, social relationships, and waiting before I make a strong first impression. issues I really need to solve. So I took them one by one.
The first time I had to speak in public was at a boot camp with para Nova kovitch called alpha personality. I had to hold training and I prepared about two months for it. I had a slideshow with a lot of useful data and statistics to account for the information I was presenting. And I was convinced that I would be a great success. I began my presentation. I was nervous, but I managed to do it until the end, which was a true victory in a way.
It was my first real presentation. The result was okay. It wasn't impressive. I wasn't applauded. It was simply okay. I merely presented some data that people listened to The fact that they didn't apply them is a whole different story.
I was disappointed. I thought I had the problem and according to my personality type, if there is a problem, it must be solved. Therefore, I made the plan to be a better trainer and they signed up in Toastmasters. Toastmasters is a public speaking organization, which teaches you to surpass your nervousness, to hold better speeches, and they have a plan to help you develop your public speaking. The process takes years, obviously, but I wasn't bothered by that. As long as I could see an end result in a few years and improve my skills.
It was okay. What happened on my first speech in Toastmasters? I was so nervous, I was trembling like a leaf. The following speeches I held with slideshows with information were okay. Speech number 10, which was supposed to be inspiration. No, and make people stand up and applaud.
Oh boy. I had a thoroughly prepared. I had about three pages with my best stories and jokes. But when I started speaking, I couldn't remember any of them, even though I had rehearsed. So I kept looking through my pages. You know the result.
I had to repeat my speech as I it wasn't good enough. I then stepped into hell itself and said to myself, to hell with my pages and all the rehearsing, I will speak as I normally do. Speech number 11 was my best speech. Until then, I spoke Normally, I made mistakes. I forgot my jokes, and everything else I had rehearsed actually. But even though I made mistakes, I kept speaking.
People saw the human side of a person they had considered to be cold and they liked it. I even told A story that presented my vulnerable side. And in that moment, people emphasized with me. How can you really improve your personality type, step into hell. Find situations in which you have to use the other preference, the one you never normally use. If you can't on logic, use feelings.
Go to Toastmasters, for example, and hold speeches in which you talk of your emotions and try to emphasize with people, you'll think it's hard at first, you'll make mistakes. But after trying and trying and hitting the wall, that wall is bound to fall, even though you won't be able to express your feelings perfectly. In contrast to how you used to be, you will see you've made progress. This is one of the most valuable pieces of advice I can offer you in this training. Please remember it and use it
