Alan Friesen here certified Employee Benefits specialist with another suggestion to help you get the best value out of your employee benefit program. This one is more it kind of follows a previous video I did, which was about why do you have a benefit program? What is the goal that you're trying to achieve? That kind of drives this one a little bit. So the two are intertwined. And this is really what features are most important for you in your employee benefit program.

So if cost is consideration, that's let's let's say that's the key driver, well, then you're going to want to utilize maximums, you're going to want to if you're a high utilizing group, you're going to want the protection of a pool to protect you from high usage, right, a high claims usage and to protect your rates. So those are as an example, if you're on the other side and you're looking for employees to look at To the employees as best as you can, well, perhaps making it as convenient as possible for the employees to make claims where they can have to deal with a provider who has a lot of direct build relationships with providers with dentist and opticians and massage therapist and drugs, pharmacists, etc. so that it makes it as easy as possible for those individuals to utilize those services and keep their health and wellness at an optimum optimum level.

So that's kind of it's just kind of the features that you want are driven by what it is you're trying to achieve. And then then helping you determine that, oh, here's another thing that's a big issue as well is choice. How much level of employee choice Do you want to have employees choice comes with a cost of complexity and some administration type obligations. But, again, if you're looking if your goal is more on serving the employees, as opposed to as serving your company, if it's more than servant employee Then you'd also want, if possible to give them greater levels of choice. And those greater level of choice, allow them to make selections that help them get the best benefits for them and their families. health spending accounts one way to do that, benefit programs like cafeteria style pay programs are a way to do that, those kind of things.

So I guess it's where what are the goals you're trying to achieve? And that's a previous video that I discussed that. And then if you've got that clear in your mind, what the goals are, what features then are going to assist you in serving those goals and meeting those goals.
