You have probably heard the term before that form follows function. So how does that relate to employee benefits? My name is Alan Friesen, I'm a certified Employee Benefits specialist. And here's the way I think about this. If you have the a good question to ask is why do you have an employee benefits program? Or if you're just considering putting one in, you know, why would you do that?
What? For what reason? Do you think an employee benefit program makes sense. And why that's important to know is because that'll kind of drive the design behind the Employee Benefit Program. So and there's a variety of reasons you might look at, I think you can plop them all on kind of a continuum, because it serves the needs of the employer or because it serves the needs of the employee. So that's really the range in terms of why you would do this put in an employee benefit program.
And the the, the reasoning behind that knowing that is that it will help you design something It's going to be worthwhile for you be cost effective and meet the need you want it to meet. EF in terms of you want to be on the employee II, employer side, pardon me, you want to look after employer side. And all you really want to do is be able to advertise for people and say we have an Employee Benefit Program. Well, generally, that's going to be a little bit more on the conservative side of the program. The lower cost side, perhaps you're not as concerned about employee access to the benefits. The employer administration is probably important to you want to keep those costs as low as possible.
If you're continuous. On the other side, the focus is on the employees. You want to make sure the employees and their families are healthy, get looked after Get, get what they need to maintain good health and wellness, well then a little bit different, you're probably willing to spend a little bit more money on the benefit program, you want something that the employees can easily access, those kind of things. So and of course all of this falls into that it has to be sustainable. I mean, obviously if it was too rich Then you cannot afford to keep it. It doesn't make any sense, right?
If it if it makes you uncompetitive in the marketplace, but basically the the idea would be to answer the question, we invest in employee benefit, because how do you how would you finish that sentence? because that'll be very helpful in terms of getting what you want, what's going to meet the need that you're trying to satisfy. If I can assist you in talking out those advantages and the different ways that you might look at it, I would gladly help you. My contact information is right up here. Give me a call. Thanks.
Much.
